THIS is the Pledge

. . . . .

I haven’t been posting a lot these past couple of days other than the Glenn Beck videos, etc.  because I’ve been working on other writing projects taking me away from these pages.  Tonight I found this at Doug Ross’ place.  In a word, it is “perfect”.

The GOP Pledge to America

We pledge that every action we take will be gauged by the answer to a single question: Does it show fidelity to the Constitution, our highest law?

With that as our guide, we solemnly pledge the following as our first actions:

• We will repeal the Democrat health care bill and, if vetoed by the President, will de-fund every aspect of that bill until such time as the American people have input into a sensible health care reform process.

• We will slash the size of the federal government bureaucracies (Commerce, Education, Energy, the EPA, Labor, etc.) by 20% in 2011 with a goal of reducing each by 50% over the next three years, thereby saving hundreds of billions of dollars.

• We will secure the border with physical fencing suitable to repel drug smugglers, human smugglers, and terrorists, while encouraging legal immigration and enforcement of the law.

• We will confront the entitlement crisis — Social Security and Medicare — by preserving benefits for those who depend upon them and moving to privatized options for younger workers. Anything less condemns future generations to mountains of debt and economic catastrophe.

• We will strengthen our armed forces, space and missile defense programs to retain our unparalleled superpower status.

• We will begin the process of paying down our debts, spending within our means every year.

• We will ban public sector unions, which exist solely to wage war against the taxpayers who fund their operations.

Put simply: we intend to adhere to a strict interpretation of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Faith, Family, and the Founding. That is our creed.

And for your support and with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

  1. Notice that there is no mention of earmarks. My understanding is that they won’t do earmarks for one year but no promises after that!
GOP big wigs just doesn’t get it yet.

Also mention of physical fences for the boarder but did not mention about putting gun totting shootem up guards on the boarder.

  2. The only reason the Economy is NOT Crashing right now , in short term reasoning is because President Obama can give his Big Bank Regime the economic Cover they Need to ” Fix ” or ” Cook their Books ” with this ; so is this the New Economic Policy that the failed GOP could Not do ???? Common Republican Party you need to get it together and be more exotic like Obama and his Environmentalist Marxists junkies that love to control the money of the Free markets . LOL LOL

Is this President Obama’s Free Market is today ?? Are the Big Banks controlling the trading floors of the so called free market with Flash trading to favor Obama’s agenda of Environmentalist dictatorship over the Fear of world wide over population ??? http://www.metacafe.com/watch/621153/cia_predicts_the_future_2015_water_resources

  3. “…Western nations including the United States have gradually implemented virtually all of Marx’s 10 key steps toward creating a dictatorship. What are some examples can you find? Americans would be wise to study the “Ten Planks” and demand that the President and Congress abolish all laws, regulations and agencies which govern these (and all other) unconstitutional seizures of power. Communism was never intended to free man, but to enslave him; indeed the Communist Manifesto promised a “dictatorship of the proletariat” and history proved it always ended up slaughtering millions of the proletariat.

Karl Marx’s “10 Planks” to seize power and destroy freedom:

    1. Abolition of Property in Land and Application of all Rents of Land to Public Purpose.

    2. A Heavy Progressive or Graduated Income Tax.

    3. Abolition of All Rights of Inheritance.

    4. Confiscation of the Property of All Emigrants and Rebels.

    5. Centralization of Credit in the Hands of the State, by Means of a National Bank with State Capital and an Exclusive Monopoly , ( Flash Trading that favors Political , environmentalist control of capital flows , flash crash it down , or Flash Crash it up ?? sounds like a controlled market environment rather than a Free market ).

  4. Will this law if it goes into effect put the United Nations in control the Columbia River along with all water tributaries
    of the USA ????

If you read down the Executive order under Sec. 2. Policy. in the Whitehouse link below you will see where it says the Obama Administration is going to (iii) pursuing the United States’ accession to the Law of the Sea Convention . The USA is a Sovereign nation I thought and No International control over Our Resources can be done without the rights of the US citizens to be in control of its Nations resources , what do you call this ?????

  7. I am glad to see this Pledge. At least it’s a start and we have to start somewhere. I’m sure that there is more they will do as they get more solidly in control of the house and senate in 2012, if We The People stay on them and stay engaged. We must never again take it for granted that “they” are listening to We The People. We must continue to make our voices heard and understood in no uncertain terms. We MUST get more than 38% of the population eligible to vote engaged and VOTING! Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your neighbors and even perfect strangers that they have an OBLIGATION to vote if they want to have a say in the government of this country.

  8. By their pledge, the Republican Party promises to BECOME that which most rank-and-file Republican voters already THOUGHT that they were!

I’m sure they’ll hold to it just as strongly as they did the 1994 “Contract With America”. (That was a great “marketing” tool. Too bad that they didn’t really mean it.

The FGOP (Formerly Grand Old Party) pledge also says that they hope to BECOME what the platform of America’s Independent Party has been from the beginning. Click this link to read the PLATFORM for yourself.
    http://aipnews.com/mxPage.asp?ID=3

Why go with an imitator, when you can have the real thing?

  9. Tom, I’m sure you’re right. I keep hoping they will get back on track. I was an Independent for many years and only became a Republican because of a local candidate I wanted to support but couldn’t because of our voting laws. I admit I am somewhat disappointed in the Republican party over the last few years. They really don’t seem to “get it”, but maybe if we the people stay involved and engaged and hold them to their promises or get rid of them, too, they will get rid of the RINOs and get back to honoring their tenets.

  10. Dottie, et al.,

Keep in mind that, in the 1976 primary, Ronald Reagan was considered an “outsider” and something of a “radical”.

If people like Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan could not fix the Republican Party, then who can?

The FGOP has been trying to purge itself of true conservatism since the day that Reagan left office.

    They’ve almost succeeded.

  11. Tom, that’s partly because the people didn’t stay engaged. They expected the party to do all the work and they could sit back on their hind ends and do nothing and be happy. I have found out it doesn’t work that way. I was one of those who thought I could just sit back and ignore all the shenanigans in Washington and let it all work itself out — well that’s what got us Obama-lama-ding-dong. No more. I am ENGAGED. I am interested and motivated probably for the first time in my voting history — and that’s a lot longer than I like to admit. I am hoping more Americans are feeling that way. We need to get back to our conservative roots and NOW. I am a conservative first and a republican second. Mostly I am an independent person who likes to think for herself and act accordingly. Believe me, if this doesn’t wake the party up, I’m going back to being an Independent — PRONTO.

  12. Dottie & Tom–you are both correct; we must, as concerned &
responsible citizens help to dismantle the leftist monopoly on
the MSM, in academia, the union rolls, etc. These groups have
been doing everything within their (not inconsiderable) power
to “fundamentally transform” this great nation & we can no longer sit idly by & hope that “things will work themselves out”
as Dottie said. I once felt that way too, for far too long we watch as these Marxist radicals single out & destroy effective voices in the public sphere–well no longer! That state of affairs will never return as long as we are breathing
    & capable of taking action!
