Rick Perry? Not so much.

Rush is talking about Rick Perry today.  Following along on Free Republic’s Live Thread, one Freeper has this to say about Rick Perry:

He has Rick Perry speaking on his shnow. Perry is a RINO. He tried to MANDATE the injection of drugs (Guardasil) in to Texas females via executive order. If you think Obama care is bad how about MAKING peope take a particular drug?Perry has been nowhere to be found on letting the illegals across the border. He has turned a blind eye to sanctuary cities.Perry attempted the biggest land grab in history via the Trans-Texas Corridor theft. He has allowed in-state tuition for illegals. Sickening!

What is amusing is that Rush just quoted Perry dissing Al Gore. The rality is that Perry and Gore are old buddies.

Typical of Perry, he will be trying to unring some of these bells in ANOTHER expensive special session. Perry has had way too many special sessions. He, the Lt. Gov. and the legislature have more than enough time to handle issues in the regular sessions.

Perry has NEVER been challenged duing any of his re-election campaigns after he become Texas Gov. after “W” resigned. Perry has always been the lesser of two evils in every re-election campaign. He was always the douche running against the turd sandwich. So, his running against Obama is a classic Perry situation. But only as long as there are no other strong candidates. IE: If Palin runs Perry won’t because it would be, well, work…..

Don’t be fooled by Perry.

With all that said if it comes down to Perry vs Obama I’m for Perry. Or a can of SPAM or a rock. Anything or anybody but Obama.

Giving illegals in-state tuition.

Doesn’t want a border fence because it will hinder commerce with Mexico. (makes no sense)

Thinks the feds should enforce immigration law not Texas LEOs paid by the state.

Signed a law for mandatory inoculations for girls to prevent cervical cancer.

What else?

  1. If you are going to print half-truths & a lot of lies PLEASE learn to use spell check & you might want to work on your grammar. Ah, it is pretty obvious now just saw who wrote this a rabid Palin supporter. First off, yes Gov. Perry did sign an executive order mandating shots & like all other shots there is an opt out option for parents-so the choice still lies with the parent. Period…so much for that bitch.

Second, you are OBVIOUSLY not a Texan, since you have no concept of the border issue. Gov. Perry came in after George W. Bush-who yes didn’t care about borders. There is only so much the Gov can do-he can send the Texas Rangers which he has done, he can do small things HOWEVER, the border is a federal issue & his hands are tied, especially with the way TX govt is arranged.

Gov Perry has been against Sanctuary Cities & if you lived in Texas you would know this as well as the fact that until this last election cycle for the majority of his terms (& yes 3 consecutive ones, each won by larger majority) he has had Democratic Legislature & Senate. The Gov does not control the agenda in Tx-the LT Gov does & Dewhurst is pure RINO, the only way around this is to call a special session after the regular session-then the Gov sets the agenda. Gov Perry did this as soon as our legislature was done-as is allowed under Tx law-& a very strong bill against sanctuary cities is on the agenda-this is the 1st time it has had a snowballs chance in hell of passing.

Please provide your documentation & the school records & receipts for a known illegal who was given free tuition in Texas.

The Trans-Texas cooridor there is 2 sides of-I can understand the economic side in regards to helping build jobs, etc & where it would bring even more new business into Texas, however, I like most did not agree with the building of it & Governor Perry listened to voters & dropped his support for it. Personally I like a Governor that listens to what the people of his state is saying.

I guess you also do NOT know that Texas legislature only meets for 149 Every TWO years-this is 1/4 the time of most other states. Research works wonder & as I explained to your earlier, in Tx for the Gov to get HIS AGENDA he has to call a Special Session it is the ONLY way around Lt. Governor. Now I am sure that as a Palinbot you will not approve this post, so I won’t waste my time pointing out her support for TARP, Cap & Trade & other wonderful projects.

    1. Thanks for your input, Victoria. As you can see, my post contained verbatim comments (spelling errors and all) from a couple of folks at Free Republic who were remarking while listening to the Rush Limbaugh show ( the daily live thread of commentary associated with Limbaugh’s program). Their comments were not my opinions. I’ve met Gov. Perry once, and it was in passing while I was with the Tea Party Express in Waco. Glad to see that my post has attracted your further comment and clarification. I appreciate you taking the time to clear up some misconceptions about Gov. Perry. We’ll be keeping a close eye on him and his record if and when he throws his hat into the presidential ring.
