Posey: “Thanks, but no thanks’

My Congressional rep is one of the few guys who practices what he preaches when it comes to fiscal conservatism.

According to The Shark Tank, Bill Posey(R-FL 15) is one of a select few Members of Congress that personally wrote a check to the government which returned the pay increase that members of Congress are mandated to receive by the House Finance Office.

Since 2009, Congressman Posey has return this mandated pay raise by writing a personal check in the amount of $4800 a year to the U.S. Treasury.

  1. In another context, I would like to see all of Congress write checques to reimburse for all the pay and benefits they have received but done nothing to earn. This specially applies to the Senate. These people make enough by their honest and dishonest graft as is. Yes, all manner of graft is legal for Congress. It’s why they have such a high approval rating.

  2. I love the idea that they give money back that they didn’t earn. What integrity.. We need more of that in Washington.
As for the space program we need to keep it going. We don’t nee to be behind in the things that are going on in the world. We need to better educate our kids too or we are going to be so far behind that it is is a shame.I’m afraid we are already there.
