Sen. Dianne Feinstein announces she will retire from Congress

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., will retire from Congress at the end of 2024 after three decades in the Senate and over 50 years in public office, she announced in a statement Tuesday.
“I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024 but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends,” Feinstein said.
Feinstein, 89, is currently the oldest sitting member of the upper chamber and the longest-serving senator from her state, first elected to the Senate in 1992.
A number of House Democrats have either announced a 2024 campaign bid for her job, including Reps. Katie Porter and Adam Schiff. Rep. Barbara Lee has also expressed interest in the race. — NBC News
Our Take: “Many people are celebrating the departure of this dusty bag of bones, but 50 years of damage is already done, and those who seek to replace her might prove themselves to be far worse than Feinstein ever was.
Is she stepping down willingly? She is quite ancient. Is she being told to step down by the puppet masters to make way for Adam Schiff? Who knows.
Did the CCP end her contract? The Left and the media will treat her as some kind of saint, when in reality, her legacy should show that she was just another congressional stooge, and a leaker, who employed a Chinese spy and swindled the public for decades.
Let’s not forget her trying to take down Brett Kavanaugh with the Christine Blasey Ford wrap up smear that wasted time and failed miserably.
Additionally, she makes $174,000 a year as a senator. Not a bad salary at all, but just like Nancy Pelosi, she missed her calling as an investment banker since she was able to parlay that into a nice $110 Million fortune. Good riddance.” — Ryan DeLarme
No tears here. I remember seeing pictures of her bullying fellow members backing them against the wall. But, her husband profited nicely during her tenure. I assume her spy bud is,leaving with her.
