“The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it had waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency.
The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the U.S. Federal Registry with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing “high illegal entry.” According to government data, about 245,000 illegal entries have been recorded in this region during the current fiscal year.”
“Former President Donald Trump’s campaign said Wednesday that the Republican presidential frontrunner raised more than $45.5 million for his political operation during the third quarter of this year, improving his haul over the previous three-month period.
His campaign credited “overwhelming grassroots” support for the sums raised and said the former president had more than $37.5 million cash on hand at the end of September. The lion’s share of that – nearly $36 million – has been designated for use in the primary, according to a campaign statement.

“The Biden administration’s now-suspended Iran envoy Robert Malley helped to fund, support, and direct an Iranian intelligence operation designed to influence the United States and allied governments, according to a trove of purloined Iranian government emails.
The emails, which were reported on by veteran Wall Street Journal correspondent Jay Solomon, writing in Semafor, and by Iran International, the London-based émigré opposition outlet which is the most widely read independent news source inside Iran, were published last week after being extensively verified over a period of several months by the two outlets.
They showed that Malley had helped to infiltrate an Iranian agent of influence named Ariane Tabatabai into some of the most sensitive positions in the U.S. government—first at the State Department and now the Pentagon, where she has been serving as chief of staff for the assistant secretary of defense for special operations, Christopher Maier.
On Thursday, Maier told a congressional committee that the Defense Department is “actively looking into whether all law and policy was properly followed in granting my chief of staff top secret special compartmented information.””

“Biden on Wednesday tapped Hampton Dellinger to lead the [Office of Special Counsel], which investigates corruption in the executive branch and provides protections to federal whistleblowers. Dellinger currently serves as head of the Justice Department’s office of legal policy.
If confirmed, Dellinger could create a conflict of interest given his links to Hunter Biden. Dellinger and the younger Biden worked together at the white shoe law firm Boies Schiller Flexner, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
In 2014, Hunter Biden tapped Boies Schiller Flexner to represent Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy firm where he served as a board member.
Hunter Biden and Boies Schiller Flexner’s crisis management and government response team developed a public relations and lobbying strategy to help Burisma, according to emails from Biden’s laptop. Dellinger served on Boies Schiller Flexner’s Crisis Management and Government Response team, though it is unclear if he did any work for Burisma.
But emails show Dellinger and Hunter Biden did cross paths on numerous occasions at Boies Schiller. The duo arranged a lunch date in February 2014. They also attended a dinner party for Boies Schiller partners in March 2014.”

Rep McHenry is currently Speaker Pro Tempore because McCarthy selected him to be. It’s a contingency plan in case of Speaker removal or incapacitation.

Bc the McCarthy/Gaetz Kayfabe subconsciously forced MSM to feel they must CHOOSE between two people who, in reality, have the SAME MESSAGE.
Binary Thinking for a WIN.
-McCarthy was Trump’s pick for Speaker
-McCarthy is one of GOP’s best fundraisers
-McCarthy and Trump worked together to retake the House in 2022
-McCarthy, so far, had delivered on oversight, whistleblowers, impeachment inquiry and a number of other promises. (Though not all)
Considering these facts, it’s no surprise that Dems joined with Gaetz to take McCarthy out. The incentives were in their favor, which should give Republicans and MAGA cause for circumspection here.
And while folks are celebrating this “win” as if it helps MAGA, the Dems are celebrating that the House, oversight and impeachment are at a stand still and the GOP is fractured, effectively dysfunctional.
Best case scenario is that this, McCarthy as Speaker, turns out to be a “Scaramucci model”, a “temp hire by design”.
That’s what I am hoping for, though I don’t see how that develops from this point forward.
