I stepped into another world while waiting for a friend who was undergoing eye surgery to remove a cataract. Seeking coffee, across the street from the surgery center was a little cafe.
Upon entering, I literally stepped into a 19th century parlor, shelves filled with yellowed books, heavy draperies and overstuffed wingback chairs, sofas that in those days were called “divans.” It remind me of a Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, featuring an assortment of oddities (ex: animal bones)… artifacts one would expect to find in such an exotic museum.
I snapped some pics.

Love this!! Reminds me of some cafes/bistros we had in CT……unusual find here in Fla…..bet the coffee, etc was great too……
My wife, with me in the passenger seat, opened our Iron Bell Coffee Parlor in Grand Rivers, KY on August 15. It has a tin-style ceiling and black with gold and coffee metal flake floor, walnut counters and tables, and two leather couches plus teal cushioned chairs. We wanted a place to come talk. It’s a decidedly Christian themed parlor with a gallery room dedicated to our friend’s, James Nesbit, digital canvas artwork. This place has real similarity to we also have attempted to create. Coffee, conversation, comfort. Ahhh.
beautiful place. peaceful setting. service is probably as good as the decor. taste and the caffeine is likely the same as every other, but the ambiance stills the heart.
