Yesterday I sent an email (Planning to fly home for Thanksgiving?) to everyone on my mail list (if you’re not on it and want to be, email me – RadioPatriot@gmail). In it, I included a link to a CNN article (Growing backlash against TSA body scanners, pat downs) about the Dept. of Homeland Security’s overreach with TSA body searches now underway at our airports. Well, I began getting replies almost immediately, one from a friend who had just taken a trip who wrote:
I got a pat down on the 31st leaving PHX. He was very polite and explained veering and that it was a brand new procedure. Only problem is his rubber gloves when he went in my pants. He had to stop 3 times as he was pulling my belly hair out.
Susan from Ft. Lauderdale sent this piece by columnist Dave Barry who wrote about his groin “examination” while going thru Miami Airport’s TSA security procedures.
And today, news of a San Diego man who was singled out for a groin check. It made the DrudgeReport. The traveler was bounced out of the airport after he protested. But not before he recorded the entire incident from his cellphone video camera and posted it at YouTube. His story and all three YouTube segments are posted at his blog :
These events took place roughly between 5:30 and 6:30 AM, November 13th in Terminal 2 of the San Diego International Airport. I’m writing this approximately 2 1/2 hours after the events transpired, and they are correct to the best of my recollection. I will admit to being particularly fuzzy on the exact order of events when dealing with the agents after getting my ticket refunded; however, all of the events described did occur.
So, as you make holiday travel plans, are you having second thoughts about packing up the family and trundling like sheep through the snaking lines leading you , your wife and your sons and daughters to a possible panty check? Are you looking at the rising prices at the gas pump and wondering if it’s worth the drive to grandmother’s house instead?
Or will you just say “screw it”, and stay home to cook your turkey?
If enough of us decide we’re just not going to allow ourselves to be run through the gestapo-like TSA’s traps, will the airline industry survive? Their profit margins are slim as it is. Can they afford to lose our business? Even their pilots and flight attendants are protesting this outrageous personal invasion by a government that “only wants to protect us”. The TSA told this hapless San Diego traveler that you give up “a lot of rights” when you buy a ticket to fly. Really??? Flying supercedes the US Constitution? The airlines struggle financially. But not to worry — Obama and The Firm will bail them out — or buy them out. Maybe that’s The Firm’s plan all along?
The 112th Congress convenes in January. Let them know you won’t put up with this. Tell them WE aren’t the criminals. WE are the ones saying “Let’s Roll!”
