“Love. The most powerful thing there is.” – John Wooden

John Wooden

American historian David Barton sent Glenn Beck a note last night about coach John Wooden who passed away recently at age 99, telling him about a piece of paper Wooden carried in his wallet: a 7-point creed his father had given him. But it had been edited “slightly” by the NYTimes in the obit they wrote.  They took out “the Bible” and the part about giving thanks for your blessings every day.  It’s incredible.

“Be true to yourself. Make each day a masterpiece. Help others. Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.  Make friendship a fine art.  Build a shelter against a rainy day. Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.”

Woodenisms. Worth reading.  Worth living.  Worthy.  “You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.”

Thirdwavedave has a wonderful four-minute long video interview with Coach Wooden. Don’t cheat yourself of the experience of watching it.

And now, here’s Glenn…
