  1. Yes, under free speech, we do have the “right” to burn a Quran.

In the process, we stoop to their level.

And, in the process, we put more money into the hands of those that publish the Quran.

So, if a bunch of Muslims get together, and have a protest on TV, and claim that they will be offended by the burning of the Quran, and then THOUSANDS (perhaps even MILLIONS) of well-meaning Americans go out and BUY a copy of the Quran, just so that they can burn in, then…

    who REALLY wins?

(Those “offended” Muslims will laugh all the way to the bank.)

Want to REALLY protest against Islam?

Instead of going out and burning a Quran, stay home and read your Bible!

(Now that would offend Allah, and Satan!)

    1. Dear Tom Kovach,
Never met you to my knowledge. But as respectfull as I might I disagree with your theme of just/merely stay home and read your Bible BECAUSE If you do read this book of God’s Redeeming Love in Christ you will find He Commands us to go, and do things such as stand up against and oppose evil, and Islam is a very evil FALSE religion indeed.
      Thanks

      1. Well, to get to know me, you could visit my Web site at: http://www.TomKovach.US.

If you read my second book, “Tribulation: 2008”, then you’ll know that I definitely encourage people to stand up to Islam. But, first, one needs to know exactly what that means.

The best way to know that Islam is a false (indeed, evil) religion is to get to know the true religion of the true God, expressed in the loving attonement by His Son, Jesus the Christ. And, the best way to do that is to stay home and read your Bible.

Having been the leader of two Air Force counter-terrrorist teams (one Stateside, one overseas), I definitely know what it takes to stand up to terrorists.

And, ultimately, what it takes is to stand up FOR Jesus.

Anyone that thinks that is a “wimpy” response needs to decide whether they would be willing to stand up to mocking, beating with fists, beating with rods, having one’s beard ripped out, flogged with a multi-tail whip that has shards of pottery laced into it, and then hung upon a cross to suffocate by the weight of one’s own body — while having several of their joints slowly torn from their sockets — with all of that weight resting upon nine-inch nails that are intentionally driven through areas with clusters of nerves.

Jesus was the bravest man that ever lived — because He knew that was the fate that awaited Him, and yet He went through it anyway … for you and me.

And, knowing that, He said, “Turn the other cheek.”

Of course, as my book explains, in order to turn the other cheek, one must be still standing.

        Hmmmmmmm.

        1. Tom, I have not read any of your books, but I DO read the Bible and you are right. I stand behind my first statement that I would probably READ the Quran before I probably burned it, but I WOULD read it first to see what all the fuss is about. I have seen excerpts from it, so I have an idea, but I am not fooled into thinking it is anything but evil. And if I DID burn it, I wouldn’t make an announcement first — I’d just do it. And then I would go back to reading my Bible and practicing the religion laid out by God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I am reminded that we are told repeatedly in the Old Testament that “they who are for us are greater than they who are against us” (I am not a scriptorian so I don’t remember the exact place where that is said, but I know I just read it recently in our Sunday School lesson. I take that very much to heart. I know that God will preserve us until our work is finished and then, if it is our time, we will leave this earth one way or another. But NOT UNTIL IT IS OUR TIME. Jesus is my Example and I do my best to follow Him. I am human so I fall short, but I DO try. It is always better to do the honorable thing because they don’t. But I am still willing to fight for my home, my family and my country if called upon to do so. Thanks for posting this. I think sometimes we need to be reminded. I know I do.

  2. Back in the early 1980s, the same concept was true when Jesse Jackson encouraged his followers to pour Budweiser down the drain in protest of some perceived slight.

In the process, Jackson’s followers had to go to the store and BUY containers of Budweiser. (Of course, one could argue that the TRUE followers of Jesse Jackson simply went out and stole it, because it was their “right” under Bolshevik principles, but that’s another argument. Most of his followers don’t see the connection between Jesse Jackson and Vladimir Lenin.)

Even back then — when I still thought that the news media actually reported both sides of stories — I wondered if perhaps Jackson had previously made a secret deal with the marketing department of Budweiser, which later publicly paid Jackson’s organization as “atonement” for allegedly slighting Black people.

So, did Jackson get paid twice…?

And, is anyone so naive as to think that this “pastor” in Florida will not benefit financially from all of the rubes across America that will send him money because of this stunt?

We might have the “right” to burn the Quran, but who will really benefit from it?

  3. “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.”

    — Jesus, the Christ (Luke 6:42)

  4. I’m sorry.
“Tolerance” is expected while none is given.
Do I think this Pastor should burn this rag?
    No.
But I risked my life to insure he had the right to do it.
And he’s truly done us a great service, hasn’t he?
He’s made it abundantly clear that we are dealing with people who want to kill us… who are using our freedoms to mock us… people whose “Holy book” teaches them it is perfectly okay, (No correct that… NECESSARY, to lie to infidels in order to further the goals of their religious/political/economic/social system.)
    We are at war.
Turn the other cheek if you want.
Me? I’ve taken the “You can pay me a little now, or a LOT later” attitude.
    Burn the books Pastor.
    Everyone else… lock and load.

  5. I do not dispute that we have the right. We do.

I only dispute whether it IS right to exercise that right in this situation.

And, yep, I have enough ammo for several reloads. By that time, I’ll be able to use Ahmed’s rifle….

(Those that think we should just lie down and let Ahmed rule over us should read the Book of Nehemiah.)

  6. I must say, I am NOT going to go out and buy a Quran just to burn it, but if one fell into my hands I would read it first to see what all the fuss is about and probably THEN I would burn it. They want to KILL us! What part of that do we not get???? They believe we are not FIT to live on this planet. They believe we are vermin. Until they change that attitude, I am going to be very careful what I say and how I act around them. But KNOW THIS. If they come at me with their weapons, I will do everything in my power to defend myself, my family and my country. God would expect no less from me.

  7. If it is a freedom, then it is a right any time, any sitation, period. What you would choose to do or not do any time or never, you have no right to push that on another, period.

  8. With freedom & rights come responsibilities; these people whom we have so graciously welcomed into our country, are engaging in “stealth jihad”, seemingly to undermine the freedom & rights which we now enjoy as a result of sacrifices made on our behalf by countless others. Are there not many countries where muslims form the majority of the population & sharia is the “law of the land”? Why Why do they wish to come to our country & arrogantly dictate to us & harangue us with the supposed “shortcomings” of the USA? They appear to have no respect
for American culture, history, tradition or rights & freedom!

  9. Because it is the nature of their beliefs to “convert” the world to THEIR way of thinking even when we don’t desire to be “converted”, Elizabeth. They want a WORLDWIDE Caliphate. They have no tolerance for ANY other belief but theirs.

    1. Exactly! Somebody gets it.

And, when we have someone occupying the White House that has himself been asked to RULE OVER that worldwide Caliphate, then how much can we as individuals actually do to stop the march of evil upon a society that chooses to wallow in certain types of evil?

(By the way, here is the link to the news story about Obama being asked to become the Muslim worldwide leader.)
      http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=201385

THE GOOD NEWS is that we can still do everything in our power to resist the march of evil in our own hearts, in our homes, in the hearts of our children, and perhaps in the hearts of some close friends. “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.”

“Save yourself, and thousands will be saved around you.”
      — Saint Seraphim of Sarov

And, every time that we resist evil, or help someone else to do likewise, there will be burning coals poured upon the heads of demons.

THAT sure sounds like VICTORY to me!

      No Jesus? No peace.

      1. Thanks, Tom. I take that as a compliment. And you’re right — No Jesus, no peace; Know Jesus, Know Peace. God can and WILL protect us if we are seeking His protection and living in a manner to receive it. That’s why it is so important to get as close to Jesus as we can and to stay there.

        1. And, Tom, while I am thanking you for your insight, let me take this opportunity to thank you for your service to our country. This very grateful American appreciates your sacrifice and your willingness to lay down your life in our defense. Thank you from the very depths of my heart, to you and all of our service men and women. There is no way to repay you for your service except to fight to remain free ourselves.

  10. Tom Kovach & Dottie Prince, you are both correct, as always!
To Mr Kovach–thank you sir! You are a true American patriot–
one of those defending freedom & liberties on behalf of so many others! These muslims do intend to either convert us to
their “religion” or to enslave & subjugate us; their goal will be
achieved through “stealth jihad”, “taqiya”, & the willing partici-
pation of their “fellow travelers” (the progressives)–both
parties believe us to be infidels & kufar & thus not worthy of
    respect or dignity!

    1. Thanks for all the kind words. For the most part, I enjoyed my military career — even the difficult times.
(And, would you believe, they actually paid me to do it.)

I have often agreed with Elizabeth’s posts on various topics.

This is the first time that I’ve read anything by Dottie, but she is also spot-on.

      God bless you both.

  11. Perhaps I just missed it. But, I am still looking for evidence that this book is a copy of the Koran. I never saw a title on the cover of the book.
