There’s a fever abroad in the land. It’s viral. It’s heating up. And it’s definitely contagious.
The upcoming election may be like lancing a boil. It won’t necessarily heal the contagion, but it can release the pressure, expose the underlying wound … and maybe point the way toward healing.
I joined the Tea Party Express tour Thursday night, at an outdoor event in the parking lot at the Rose Bowl, in Pasadena. There were flags waving and several hundred citizens cheering, as the bus rolled in from Las Vegas, where another event had supported Sharron Angle for Harry Reid’s Senate seat.
The doors opened and several hardworking tech guys came off first and quickly set up lights and sound. Then the stirring recorded patriotic music began, and in short order a succession of country and pop singers and musicians lit up the night, the crowd of just plain folks, old and young, singing along when they could and waving their own flags in rhythm.
A number of speakers took the stage, like Andrew Breitbart, the producer who fostered the exposure of corruption in ACORN, the feminist talk-show host Tammy Bruce, and the exciting black artist and author Lloyd Marcus. There were several other national and local conservative leaders … and yours truly.

If so, then y’all need to find a bigger parking lot around here, because Pat Boone is still HUGELY popular in Nashville!
My wife graduated from Lipscomb University, which he still supports with concerts. She says that the house on the corner of Glendale Avenue and Granny White Pike is where he used to live. (My wife had a friend, whom she met while at Lipscomb, that used to babysit Amy Grant in a log house about a mile south from that intersection.)
Pat Boone is not only a great singer and entertainer, but also a great patriot and writer. (And, as much as I enjoyed listening to him on the radio, and seeing him in the movies, when I was growing up, I enjoy even MORE reading his inspring columns now.) PLEASE tell me that he’ll be on the bus with you when you get to Nashville.

You never say “white Tammy Bruce etc” so why say “Black Lloyd Marcus”? Just saying. we already know who his is.
Marcus, whom I’ve met twice, refers to himself as a “Black conservative”. Why?
Every time he does so, he is poking a finger in the eye of all the Leftist style-book editors of the Lamestream News Media, who stick to the party-line concept that all Black people are liberal Democrats.
When she does it, Andrea is simply following Lloyd’s lead.

PS: Today, I’m wearing my WHITE cowboy hat — the same one I was wearing when I met Andrea the last time the TPE bus came to Nashville.
But, the weather might be cooler by the time they get here later this month. In that case, I’ll wear my black cowboy hat.

Thank you Tom. Some people just don’t get it! Wish they could come to a tea party rally and hear Lloyd or Kevin Jackson talk about “racism” and how ridiculous the claims are.
At an anti-tax rally in Nashville, the crowd received Alan Keyes with the same fervor, for the same reason.
All REAL conservatives get it.
Looking forward to seeing you again on Tuesday.
(But, some of the pages say that the bus will be in Franklin, and other pages say it will be in Nashville. Which is it?)
