. . . . .

While on the Tea Party Express’ third tour last Spring, we traveled to Tupelo, MS. A Blog Talk Radio host from DeSoto County MS who calls herself “Joe Dirt” and netcasts on Radio Free Mississippi invited me to join her for a chat on her program which she was doing live from the rally site.
Joe Dirt says she’s a “gear head”, someone who gets her kicks from radio equipment bells and whistles. She’s not so much into talking on the radio, but no one else will do it, so there she is, talking politics.
Well, Joe Dirt sent this email today asking for my help:
Hi Andrea,
You may remember me, you were on my Tupelo live broadcast on blogtalk this summer. Radio Free Mississippi
I need your help with a nationwide campaign.
Our group has been successful in getting legislation introduced that will impose a fee on remittances to build the border fence. We estimate that if just half the States participate, we could raise 1.2 billion dollars. Of course our legislature is already scheming a way to use this money for something else. We put out a press release on Dec. 14th in MS and AZ but we are not getting any ink. It is important to get this message out to the citizens so we can force the legislatures to pass this legislation. I believe it would empower Americans to get this thing done and not be at the mercy of the feds. We are not interested in trading a fence for amnesty.
I thought since you may have influence with other radio broadcasters, you might be able to help us get the word out. The press release is below and we also made a utube video. Please let me know if you can help us. jd

MISSISSIPPI TO BUILD THE BORDER FENCE
Senator Fillingane (Hattiesburg) will be introducing legislation this January on behalf of the Mississippi Patriots group that will fund the border fence. It will be funded by remittance fees from people unlawfully present in our country and in cooperation with other States. This unprecedented step will get the border fence built by the States after more than 24 years of waiting for Washington DC to make good on the 1986 Amnesty Act that they passed into law.
State Legislators from all over the country support this proactive approach to pool their resources for the benefit of the rest of the country’s taxpayers. If only half the States participate, we could raise $1.2 billion annually for the fence with an average remittance fee of 5%. People who live in States that cannot get the legislation passed will be able to donate money to the fence as well. Arizona will be the first State where the border fence project will start. Once that is completed, we will go on State by State until the entire border is protected. The Mississippi Patriots welcome other States to join us in support of the border States. Some legislators who would rather spend the money for other illegal immigration charges, are putting their finger in a dam that has burst while their town is under water. There is no end in sight to illegal immigration.
Our States are the victims of violent crime, drugs, crushing school and hospital budgets, identity theft, fraud, and unemployment. It is time for Americans to take on the responsibility of protecting themselves and for Legislators to stop the finger pointing. Personal responsibility is what made this country great.
Mississippi is a State least able to withstand unabated massive illegal immigration. The 50 States are loosing remittances of $45.9 billion annually in sales taxes on products and services that normally would be purchased in our communities. In addition Mississippi taxpayers spend an estimated minimum of $106 million dollars a year providing services to illegal aliens. The drain on our poor State will only continue to get worse.
The Mississippi Patriots is a conservative group focused on defending conservative values, the rule of law and the Constitution by taking action. You can find them on facebook.
The Border Fence Fund Act will be submitted to the Judiciary A Committee that Senator Fillingane Chairs. W. Briggs Hopson III Vice-Chairman (Warren Yazoo)
The other members are Sidney Albritton (Pearl River Marion); Terry C. Burton (Lauderdale); Kelvin E. Butler (Pike); Tommy Dickerson (George); Hillman Terome Frazier (Hinds); Jack Gordon (Grenada Lee); Dean Kirby (Rankin); Chris McDaniel (Jones); Walter Michel (Hinds Madison); T. O. Moffatt (Jackson); Michael Watson (Jackson); Lee Yancey (Madison Rankin).
The Judiciary A committee discussions are open to the public.
Q & A
How much money leaves the United States per year due to remittances?
The US taxpayers and businesses loose $45.9 billion annually on products and services when illegal aliens send money outside of the country. That money should be earned and spent by legal US citizens.[1]
The US Federal government looses all the tax dollars on the $45.9 billion sent out of the country by illegal aliens. The taxes on $45.9 billion should be used on our infrastructure, schools and healthcare etc…
How much money is sent to foreign countries from MS?
Remittances from MS are $99 million annually.[2]
How much does the US spend on illegal aliens?
The US spends $113 billion annually on K-12, emergency medical care, incarcerations, public assistance and general expenditures.[3] ($84 billion from the States and Local level; $29 billion from the Federal government)
How much does MS spend on illegal aliens?
MS spends $106 million on K-12, emergency medical care and incarceration.[4]
How much will the fee be?
10%.
Where are you going to build the fence?
The fence will be built on private property and Federal land.
How much is the fence going to cost?
The fence will be less than what the Federal government paid. They paid $3 million per mile. We are interested in US Congressman Steve King’s fence and awaiting his estimate.
How long do you think it will take to build it?
A mile per day can be built.
Do you think the border fence will help?
Yes, in places where the border fence was installed, apprehensions went down 97%.
Do you think the government will start funding the Secure Fence Act of 2006 again?
No, the American people have waited too long for Congress to represent the interests of American citizens. By time they stop arguing about it in DC and find the money to pay for it, we should be finished.
What other States are looking into this?
State lawmakers from three States are writing bills for the next session.
Will this effect US citizens?
No, US citizens will be able to get a fee refund when they file State income taxes.
Are they actually going to spend the money on the fence?
Yes, it will be in the law and the money will be in a secure account that cannot be accessed by politicians. The politicians will not be able to repeal it.
Why are you doing this?
Because the Federal government has refused to enforce the law and is actually working against our local law enforcement.
Who are the Mississippi Patriots?
The MS Patriots focus on projects that will make a difference for our citizens.
