. . . . .
Don Surber posted this. I grabbed it. Ties in perfectly with tonight’s discussion on my radio show with Elizabeth.
From the Washington Post, the proposals to “cut” the federal budget by 2% in this fiscal year.

Looks ridiculous, doesn’t it?
96% of the deficit remains after these cuts which Democrats describe as “extreme.”

Inside sources are reporting that a budget deal has been struck that would avoid a government shutdown on April 8, but cuts only $33 bIllion from the budget.
That’s about half of what Republican leadership promised us in face of the $1.65 trillion deficit this year.
Two weeks ago, there was a not-so-behinds-the-scenes battle between the ayes and nays for the CR. More conciliatory groups like Heritage Foundation were pushing for passage, while anti-tax stalwarts like Americans for Tax Reform urged Members to stand firm for more cuts and vote against it.
Just last week, leadership told us to “be patient” and that they had a plan.
I was in a closed-door meeting where I was told that Leadership was intentionally leaving more fat in the budget so that the Freshmen could make more cuts to take credit for them.
Are you buying this? Or does is sound like Republican leadership could teach Carlsbad Caverns a few things about caving?
Clint Didier just told me in a phone call tonight:
“This is a betrayal to ‘We the People.’ We wanted accountability for this out-of-control spending, but this is not it.
If the current leadership doesn’t get it, then we need some leaders who do. And if it takes a government shutdown, then bring it on!”
