Misdirection – USA Today serves up a Buffet of Bullshit

. . . . .

Even the headline is misleading…

Poll: What kind of president would Donald Trump make?

In an attempt to shape the narrative, USA TODAY is misdirecting its readers so well that the unaware or those ignorant of the Constitution won’t even catch it.

Nowhere in this USA TODAY article does it mention the Constitution Art II Section 1….

But they are asking an even more important question — Do we know where Donald Trump was born?

Treasonous.  Absolutely treasonous.  An all-you-can-eat buffet of bullshit.  Propaganda, folks.  This is a perfect example of what the mainstream media does best.

The only true statement in this entire pile is:

“Trump is filling a huge void in the Republican Party right now, and he’s gathering a protest vote: protest against the way Washington works; protest with the establishment Republicans,” says Scott Reed, manager for Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign. “The jury is still out whether Trump can translate that into a real candidacy for president.”

The void is “leadership”.  Something that’s sorely lacking in Washington, peopled with those consumed with political self-interest first, Constitution only when it it suits their needs.  As Gen. Patton once said about people like these:

“And, if it looks like you are getting there, all kinds of people, including some whom you thought were loyal friends, will suddenly show up doing their Goddamndest, hypocritical best to trip you up, blacken you, and break your spirit.

Politicians are the worst; they’ll wear their country’s flag in public, but they’ll use it to wipe their asses in the caucus room, if they think that it will win them a vote.”

They’re circling the wagons anticipating Obama’s last stand.  Pulling out all the stops now that Rev. Franklin Graham, a man of unimpeachable reputation has asked the question.  They’re panicked, folks. Panicked.

What this sad excuse that passes for journalism says is how easily gulled USA TODAY thinks its readers are.  USA Today is losing circulation, and is desperate to maintain its readership.

As I wrote in my March 28th Surfin Safari column:

As I reported last week, newspapers are in trouble. Online news outlets are eating their lunch, in some cases cutting their print audience in half since the advent ofthe Internet. Even USA Today, once considered the most avant-garde with colorful graphics and bite-sized news stories that didn’t “jump” to another page, is faltering and looking for ways to survive. Circulation stands at 1.8 million.

In an effort to stanch the ebbing tide of readers and advertisers, USA Today’s front page was redesigned and more colorful graphics were added to what had already made the paper stand out when it was launched in 1982. The new improved USA Today now includes bar codes that can be scanned by mobile devices to view videos and other digital content related to certain stories.

In the past five years, the decline in newspaper print ads has been steep – 50 percent – as advertisers realize they can target their online audience for a fraction of the print edition cost.

USA Today executive editors say investigative journalism will also be emphasized in the new and improved paper.

Great example, guys.
