Weather is an issue where I live in Florida, a peninsula, a fat finger of mostly spongy land surrounded by the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. We are subject to northerly flowing cold fronts in the winter, tropical summer heatwaves, and destructive hurricanes born in Africa (resisting an urge to make a political comment here…)
I’ve been called a weather wonk by folks who know my interest in barometric pressures, isobars, humidity levels, thunderstorm eruptions, lighting strikes, tornadic acitivity, and so forth. I frequently refer to WeatherUnderground, bookmarked on my toolbar. Weather conditions here can and do change quickly, so paying attention to it can often be critical to one’s health and well-being.
Yesterday I was given a gift — The SkyScanAtomic Wall Clock that features a wireless indoor/outdoor temperature display, indoor humidity level, month, day, date, and phases of the moon and 12 or 24 hour clock. It’s a fun gadget.
