On the same day that Rush Limbaugh spent his radio program talking about how the GOP Establishment wants to destroy the tea party movement, Sal Russo of the Tea Party Express sent this.  Tea partiers, stay united! They are scared to death of us and must destroy us to maintain their status quo.  Rush was keying off a NY Times Magazine article “Does Anyone Have a Grip on the G.O.P.?”, a piece that attempts to minimize the impact the tea party movement will have on the 2012 election.  I have added my editorial comments in red font to Sal’s piece, to reflect what’s really going on with the GOP re: the tea Party movement.

Governor Sarah Palin and Sal Russo take a breather at the Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight, NV

Dear Tea Party Supporter,

The liberals and establishment GOP are still chortling and wringing their hands and backroom conniving because they think they have gotten rid of Sarah Palin by her decision not to run for President in 2012. But I have news for them when it comes to Sarah Palin: “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
.
Governor Palin has said from the very beginning that she is going to use her voice to advance the conservative cause in America, and I know she means it. When she was picked to be the Republican nominee for Vice-President, there was not a more exciting day in the entire election cycle for conservatives.
.
She electrified us from that first speech, her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention and in her travels crisscrossing America advancing the cause of freedom.  We were honored and proud to have Governor Palin appear at many of our Tea Party Express rallies across the country. She was a knockout whether we were in Searchlight, Nevada, Boston, Massachusetts, or Manchester, New Hampshire.

I had the great honor of starting my professional life working for Ronald Reagan beginning with his first campaign to win the Republican nomination for Governor in 1966. Those were bleak days for conservatives, and Reagan with his eternal optimism gave so many of us hope that there was a brighter future.
.
But the liberal elites and the blueblood Rockefeller northeast GOP couldn’t stand the thought of Ronald Reagan succeeding. He was viciously attacked by his own party as a know-nothing actor who possessed extreme right-wing views that would bring destitution to the poor and nuclear holocaust to the world if he were ever elected President.
.
They sure got that one wrong. I think Ronald Reagan was the greatest President of the 20th Century!
.
While the constant attacks on him took their toll, they didn’t slow him down one bit. He knew that his plans for a stronger, more prosperous America were right. And he had the determination to win over the American people and then make the changes our country needed. He also said that every generation will have to fight the collectivist mind-set that will want to destroy the America he called that “shining city on a hill.”
.
We have the fight going on again now. President Barack Obama has been a disaster – maybe even worse than the President Jimmy Carter that Reagan defeated in 1980.  We are not going to have Sarah Palin as our nominee to defeat Obama, but I know we will have her on the front lines to make sure we restore in Washington the principles that have made America great.

I have to admit that her decision left me with some sadness. But then I realized that this wasn’t the end, but it was the beginning of a new chapter of Governor Palin standing up for America. She will be out there supporting good, solid conservative candidates for public office and the GOP establishment will try to tear her down and marginalize her as they always have. When the book is written on the 2012 election, I bet there will be a big chapter on how effective Governor Palin was in helping to win elections across this great country, despite the vicious attacks on her by her own party.
.
The Tea Party movement has been successful because almost everyone in the movement has been willing to swallow their ego and work hard to elect the best people to public office. This is going to be a tough fight, but if we all work together we can do it. I know Governor Palin will be right there with us.
.
We have a lot to do to win the Senate and get rid of Barack Obama and the establishment GOP who want to maintain the status quo.  If you support tea party principles, we need you to make a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more.
