Another loved one is in God’s heaven

Last December I wrote about my mother here when I visited her for what would be the final time.  We thought then that her passing was imminent.  But with the loving care given to her by my sister Nina and Nina’s husband John, along with attentive nurses (one of them my mother’s niece), Mom managed to stay with us another five months.

The call came just before 7 am today.  Mom’s made the final passage and is now in God’s heaven.  Her birthday was 9/11.  Today is her new birthday. The Pearly Gates have been flung open wide for Pauline, I’m sure.

We pray that her two dearest wishes — that she be with her parents again and that she cradles in her arms Nanette, the tiny little girl she birthed stillborn and never saw or held, have come true.  She told my sister Nina some days ago that she saw them all in a dream that was very real to her, and it made her happy and looking forward to being with them for eternity. If God is merciful as we know He is, Mom is with her loved ones, living with angels.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, Mom.  Thank you for your unconditional love. Rest in blissful peace, chere Maman.  Je t’aime beaucoup.

  1. Please accept my most sincere condolences &
thank you for sharing those precious memories
of your beloved mother. She is now in the presence
of our Lord, as she had envisioned in the dream you
related. She is indeed comforted by those who pre-
ceded her into the Realm of Heaven! May God
bless & keep all of you!

  2. you have sustained so many losses in a very short time. Through it all, you have shown us great compassion, grace and dignity. Thank you for sharing the journey as well as precious insights into those who helped you become who you are today. We are all fortunate to have this tenuous contact with you and with these wonderful people who wove you into their tapestry. May your angels surround you and sustain you in the time ahead.

  3. Just think how happy she is to finally hold Little Nanette for the first time, see her beautiful blue eyes and have her smile up at her. What a wonderful time she is having being with your Grandparents again and everyone she knew before!

But most of all she is with our loving Jesus and in the presence of our Almighty God! I’m sure she was met at the gates by all our Heroes and welcomed by General Washington, himself! And as he escorted her in, I bet one of the first things he said to her was “That’s one heck of a daughter you raised!”

I’m sorry for your loss, but as we know there are no tears in Heaven, so I know all your wonderful memories of the Mother you were Blessed to have, will bring you peace today.

If there is anything I can help you with, I am here…you know my number! God Bless you and all the family. Smile…she is! We love you!

  4. So sorry to hear about your mother. May God keep her now and help you through this tough time. Your losses are large but God has given you strength to see yourself through them. Rest assured he won’t give you more than he thinks you can handle. prayers for all of you.
