Today we visited the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. Built in the late 1800s by the grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt, the steamship and railroad tycoon, the house was officially opened one hundred twenty seven years ago on Christmas Eve, 1895.
Today, the inside of the 250+ room mansion halls are decked in boughs of holly — miles of red-ribbon festooned garlands, hundreds of red bows and poinsettia, and dozens of truly breathtaking Christmas trees. Outside the weather was in marked contrast to the warm glow indoors with drizzly grey skies and raw temperatures.
That is, until we left the estate late in the day. We drove the curving three-mile road that winds its way off the Biltmore estate at about the time the skies began to clear. The clouds parted, revealing a late afternoon winter sun. Dramatic. These photos were taken as we made our way out.

We are witnessing insanity when the taxpayers of the this wonderful country are outnumbered by the non producers and legislators that pander to non producers to maintain the control over the taxpayers. Taxpayers are becoming the minority when you factor in that taxpayers that are government workers align their votes with the people that don’t pay any taxes. I admire your strength of conviction and listen to you more than any network talk show radio broadcasters because you really speak from the heart and sole of what made this country great. I think you should enjoy this holiday season as best as you can under the present circumstances and just cruz along until there is that moment when there is an awakening of our country to the wrong direction we are headed and your message will then be listened to by an audience that has yet to want to believe that you commentary is totally true. Presently, you are speaking to the choir wounded by the reality that our last election that was decided by a popularity contest from the incumbents appearances on network TV and not real issues that would strengthen our country. Save your strength for when we can do some good. Best To You in 2013 you are my shinning light.
