A Message to Bill O’Reilly and the rest of the Paid Hack Society
2 wrongs don’t make a right and 2 stupids don’t make a smart. Constitutionally, I have to defend Bill O’Reilly’s right to say whatever inflammatory statement that comes into his hyperinflated head. I have to defend Pamela Gellar’s right to poke the bear in whatever foolish and irresponsible fashion she can imagine. BUT I cannot hold either of them responsible for the irrational response in which Imams call for their death. I get it that both are consumed with a need to keep spotlights on themselves, and if that draws fire on the rest of us, they deem this to be acceptable collateral damage. Thanks a bunch.The thing is you can’t deal rationally with an irrational person. That is nothing new. I was raised in the belief that the constitution allows and further, mandates me to follow the axiom… “Sticks & stones my break my bones but words can never harm me”. The sticks and stones people are on the wrong side of any argument possible. Sharia is constructed with irrational hate, anger, sticks and stones. I am disappointed that Pamela Gellar, and Bill O’Reilly are so short in their verbal tool belt that they have to poke this bear and stoke the fire. For my part, I am content to allow each to return to the anonymity they so richly deserve. And if I could get them to take Lindsey Graham, John Kerry and Obama with them, I would consider that an act of personal kindness.
