A Day at the Beach

Everyone needs a day off, away from the heaviness of everything with which we’ve been dealing. Our beach in Cape Canaveral has remained open throughout the quarantine, thank God and our City administrators who, unlike our neighboring beaches of Cocoa Beach, made the wise decision to keep our beaches open. It’s given us residents tremendous relief and a safe place to refresh, exercise, and just BREATHE!

Today’s beach visit was blissful… bright sunshine, cool breeze, an incoming (and inviting) tide, and children scampering and splashing in the surf. Kite flying, bike riding, ball playing, castle building. You would never know there was such a thing as a virus war outside our paradise.

And it seems that folks who don’t know one another are friendlier, waving hello, saying hi with broad smiles, so happy to be in the fresh air. “Living the dream,” said one. Yes we are. At least today.

Glorious!

On the dune crossover.

Cape Canaveral residents have been snapping shots of our beach. Here are a few. Enjoy!
