a) they really have a doubt?
b) they don’t have a doubt and they’re afraid of him, so they create a narrative for their low info/Trump hating voters who slurp up every lie being fed to them.

Oh I have NO doubt. And unlike a politician, who thrives on waste and bloat…..true business leaders THRIVE on identifying and eliminating waste, streamlining operations and studying business cases for return on investment BEFORE allocating funds … at ALL levels of their company. It’s a passion……….. the awakening will be glorious……UHaul might want to reallocate inventory of packing boxes to the DC area……
