Glenn Beck opens his radio show thusly:
“British Petroleum. Can you imagine how distracted they must be?
The Department of Justice Department is going after them… and now former Labor Secretary Robert Reich is suggesting the federal government should take them over.
Go back to Progressive Caucus member Maxine Waters’ statement about the government taking over because they were charging too much for a gallon of gasoline — “and guess what this liberal would be all about…basically taking over and the government running all of your companies.”
Now you have someone who is credible with the press — Robert Reich — saying the government should take “temporary receivership” of BP, putting the power in the hands of this government.”
Audio Clip of Reich talking to CNN’s Drew Griffin
“Unbelievable!” Glenn says.
Have you heard that this was the 5th or 6th idea they’ve tried, but this was the first idea they wanted to try and the White House and government said “NO, try something else!” Have you heard of this in the media? BP wrote memos saying “this doesn’t look good.” The government knew! What is it the government’s going to do? Take over the company? That’s an interesting solution…
