“To Russia with Love”

Why the unseemly haste to make a spy swap with the Russians?….

That’s the question John Wohlstetter asks. Wohlstetter, senior fellow for Technology and Society at the Seattle-based Discovery Institute; and editor of the blog Letter from the Capitol, is a frequent guest on our program.

Tonight he joins us to discuss a report that predicts Democrats will use Elena Kagan’s confirmation hearing to attack the Roberts Court.

Wohlstetter says that although the Kagan nomination will go as expected, Republicans should counter the Democratic strategy by setting the stage for the fall elections.

“Kagan almost surely will be confirmed, barring a major slip. Republicans, however, can make strong public points that set the stage for the fall elections. Liberal judges energize the conservative base.”
