I read the linked blog, and the associated comments. A thought came to me.
The Left is heavily in favor of gun control (read: “confiscation”). Yet, those on the Left often use militant terms for their politics. At some point, if things turn violent, then it would APPEAR that the Left would be literally “bringing a knife to a gunfight” — UNLESS, of course…
The Left has stockpiles of weapons and trained fighters somewhere. And, don’t be surprised if all of the welfare checks, etc., were simply a down-payment on the use of street gangs as a proxy army for the political Left. If you have ever read “A Clockwork Orange”, that is one of the main foundations of its plot.
For example, the state chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party, Chip Forrester, told me on a few occasions about how he had practiced kendo — Japanese sword fighting — for more than a dozen years. Yet, he and his ilk (including his wife, Gabrielle) organize peacenik rallies and such. So… what’s up with that?
It seems to me that the goal of Forrester and similar people on the Left is to get EVERYONE ELSE to disarm, downsize, and dumb-down themselves. If that happens, then only the Left will be capable of controlling the sheeple.
Of course, Mr. and Mrs. Forrester also once told me that they are planning to retire and move to Costa Rica, because the taxes in America are too high. Really! Well, who do they think made it that way??? (This is the hypocrisy of the Left: ruin things, escape, and then blame it on the Right.)

Tom–could not agree with you more! Although I doubt that the majority of them could “fight their way out of a wet paper bag”–especially when confronted by those on the right, such
as yourself, who served honorably & bravely in our military!!
Brings to mind one of the lines in the move “300”. King Leonidas & his men were told by the Persian tyrant to lay down their weapons; the response was, “. . .come & get them”! Yes, once again, we see the inherent hypocrisy & contradiction of their leftist ideology–they are truly like parasites. They move in to an area & destroy everything, like locusts moving over a verdant field & leaving it barren;
then they complain that it is necessary to move on to more
salubrious surroundings! How typical!

One thing I have always found so abhorrent about the left is
their hypocrisy & their eagerness to disarm everyone but the
criminals! If we left such matters in the hands of the “nanny
state tyrants” the only weapon in our arsenal would be harsh
language! The idea of arming the street gangs does sound eerily reminiscent–just as the far left courted those same type of thugs during the nihilistic anarchy of the 60’s & 70’s

A lot of people are unaware that many of the outspoken Hippies were actually being paid by the KGB to say those outlandish things.
And, it was not only the Hippies that were being used by the Soviet Communists to undermine our country.
One of the best-documented, yet least-known, cases involves a certain Black preacher that gave a speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. (And, the speech itself — especially the best-known tag line — was PLAGIARIZED. Look it up. The ORIGINAL equal-rights speech with the “let freedom ring” theme was given by a different Black preacher: the Rev. Archibald Carey, at the 1952 convention of the REPUBLICAN Party in Detroit. You probably didn’t know that. Media bias has existed a lot longer than most people realize. King lifted large portions of Carey’s speech, much of it word-for-word, but the media never called him on it, nor did they give credit to Carey, who supported conservative views.)
The Soviets underestimated the moral fiber of the American people, and used radical Blacks as wedges to fracture our society. When the marches and movements brought us closer together, instead of apart, then the KGB and their willing shills in the Democratic Party had to develop the “quota system” of so-called “affirmative action” to foment strife between the races. (You see, if the best qualified people were hired, regardless of race, then good people would succeed and bad people would fail. And, if that were to happen, then the Democrats would be exposed for what they really are: Communists.)
And, just in case people don’t get that they are Communists, then just consider the original topic of this thread: gun confiscation.
