Gov. Rick Perry came out to Tucker Hall to give a rousing Texas welcome to all assembled, as the Tea Party Express entertained and talked about the upcoming election. During the festivities, US Navy SEAL Ben Smith interviewed Lt. Col. Brian Birdwell, a Texas State legislator, who survived the attack on the Pentagon on 9/11. You can watch the interview on Tea Party HD TV. Also welcoming us was state representative “Doc” Anderson, in a western style straw hat and string tie. He presented Amy Kremer of the Tea Party Express with a giant gavel.
Gov. Perry took time to autograph a little pink jacket for Lianna, the 3 year old daughter of Tea Party Express’ Polatik (David Saucedo), who is battling acute lymphoblast leukenia through treatment at the Cook Children Medical Center in Ft. Worth. The tiny pink leather bike jacket bears the autographs of all Tea Party team members, and now, that of Gov. Rick Perry’s.
