Halal? Hell, no.

The other day I wrote about Costco stocking their meat counters with “Halal” meat. (“Costo bows to Mecca“).

So yesterday I shopped for groceries at my local Walmart. As usual, I bought a bag of frozen chicken breasts, but this time I checked to make sure the meat was not labeled “Halal”.  Here’s why.

Halal is the Islamic term that basically means the meat is lawful to eat for a devout Muslim. What makes it lawful or acceptable is that the meat has been processed in a very specific way. Now, you may think that this is no different than meat that is acceptable to the Jewish people or kosher. Unlike kosher food, where the physical processing of the meat is the focus, for Islam it is the spiritual component that makes the meat lawful.

For lawful (halal) meat in Islam, the animal must be killed while the butcher faces Mecca, and either the butcher cries “Allah Akbar” or a tape plays the words over a loud speaker. Understand, that when they face Mecca, they face the black stone, the very definition of idol worship.

Today Ann Barnhardt has more about “Halal” meat.  As you know, Ann is a cattle commodities broker.

NEVER buy meat that is marked as “Halal”. “Halal” is the term for muslim-compliant food and meat. Some people think that “Halal” must be basically the same as “Kosher”. No. Halal meat is slaughtered while the butcher is facing Mecca and screaming “allah akbar”. But that isn’t the worst of it.

I am in the cattle business, and believe me when I tell you that Halal kill plants are CONSTANTLY being cited and shut down by the USDA for horrific, horrific infractions. Most of these plants are in Michigan and upstate New York.

One of the things that halal kill plants are notorious for is putting already-dead animals in the human consumption line. They will go pick up a dead cow off of a farm or ranch and instead of putting it in their rendering tank where the resulting “tankage” is worth pennies on the dollar as pet food or industrial products, they will shackle the dead animal on the normal kill line and process it as human food which is the highest-dollar product.

Since islam teaches dishonesty (taqiyyah) and no regard for one’s neighbor, this kind of sickening behavior is standard.

Halal plants are also notorious for general citations for filth and uncleanliness. I have toured normal cattle slaughter plants, and guys, you could eat off of the floor. Everything is white and men walk around with water hoses and steam guns constantly keeping everything in a state of spotlessness.

Halal plants are filthy and unclean. A lot of Halal meat is also labeled as “organic”.

Again, don’t be fooled into thinking that “halal” means “better”. It isn’t. I would never, ever knowingly eat halal meat purely from a food safety perspective.

  1. I have been showing everyone I know this post. My Mom actually bought this particular “halal chicken” at her local Costco. She was shocked to say the least. It was marked “halal” on the back but she didn’t see a specific sign out saying what is was. She will be returning it today. Thanks for the info!

  2. Wow. While this isn’t the most offensive thing I’ve ever read on the Internet it’s up there. Really, have you any idea hoe ignorant and racist you sound? This is America, not a theocracy and people are in fact allowed to practice whatever religion they so desire in this country. Did you forget that? FTR Kosher just means that they did not mix certain ingredients and that a Rabbi read a blessing over it. No different really when it comes down to it, after all Jewish, Islam and Christianity all branch off of the “God of Abraham” after all. As far as substandard slaughtering practices and supposedly deceased animals being sent through the line, pictures or it never happened. So glad that the America I choose to be proud of actually has laws in the constitution that prevent it from being the “America” you would prefer it to be. You know, like freedom to practice religion and anti discrimination laws.

  3. If Costco wants to sell this product because of the high number of Muslims here, that is fine. However, this is still the United States of America, and they need to carry American chicken products to serve Americans. I stopped shopping at Costco BECAUSE they are a part of the NWO and no longer remember that AMERICAN citizens are who brought them to the great successful company they are now. They no longer respect Americans in many ways, so the action from me is mutual. Nothing to do with HALAL, however, they should label these products with a complete description. Respect for the Muslim religion should be EQUAL to the respect for Christianity and Judaism. We do not eat this kind of product, as instructed by our Faith. I do not have to know Muslim customs to be able to shop at Costco. Muslims are allowed to practice most of their religious rites. But this nation, founded on Judeo-Christian customs and values, should not be presented with MEAT or any other product that is “Not KOSHER” to Christians. I believe Costco will see the repercussions of this most disrespectful new practice. We are a Constitutional Republic, not a Melting POT where Anything Goes. You may call me ignorant, that is your choice.
