Geraldo Rivera pimps O’Reilly’s “Killing Kennedy” book with disinfo

Geraldo Rivera (aka Jerry Rivers) had Bill O’Reilly (aka The Bloviator) on his show last (Saturday) night.

I’m thinking Fox is plugging OR’s book hard  because Jerome Corsi’s book “Who Really Killed Kennedy?” is overtaking O’Reilly’s – The Poppinjay’s – book.  I interviewed Dr. Corsi last week about his findings.  They squared with what I’ve learned after several years of my own research developed out of my intense curiosity about the assassination.

From Corsi’s Facebook page:

My new book WHO REALLY KILLED KENNEDY? has overtaken Bill O’Reilly’s “Killing Kennedy” — in which O’Reilly tells the politically correct, but discredited theory that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone-gun assassin, ignoring evidence the Warren Commission knew LHO was on the FBI payroll on 11/22/63.

In addition to Corsi’s work, another book I’d recommend is L. Fletcher Prouty’s “JFK: The CIA, Vietnam, and the Plot to Assassinate John F. Kennedy.” Prouty served as the chief of Special Ops for the Joint Chiefs of Staff during JFK’s presidency. He goes into great detail explaining the political climate at the time, and the sequence of events leading up to and following the assassination. His is a close-up and unique point of view.

Also, researcher Robert Morrow has compiled and uploaded a library of volumes – some rare, some out of print, some that drill down into LBJ’s political scandals and involvement (along with others) in the coup d’etat.

O’Reilly (aka “The Pinhead”) said there’s NO evidence to show that Lee Harvey Oswald was NOT the lone shooter. O’Reilly’s (aka “Ted Baxter”) book takes the position that LHO was the lone shooter. Seriously.

O’Reilly (aka “The Insufferable Egotist”) is either a propagandist, a huckster, or the smug, pretentious know-it-all ignoramus that I’ve always believed him to be. Maybe all of the above. He haughtily sniffs that evidence showing “Oswald did it” is “overwhelming, compelling”.  And arrogantly tosses off all evidence to the contrary, airily dismissing it as “speculative”. No surprise there.  It’s consistent M.O. with O’Reilly (aka “The Pompous Ass”), who, like a broken clock manages to get it right only a couple of times a cycle.

1121wecht-a1Dr. Cyril Wecht, the forensic pathologist who testified before the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978, also appeared on the program and was given less than five minutes (an impossible task, but to his credit Dr. Wecht spoke rapidly, squeezing in as much as he could) to explain the forensic evidence that disproves the lone shooter theory. He referenced the ballistics, the Zapruder film, the bullet weight, the physical damage done to bone, and scoffed at O’Reilly’s claim that then FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover wanted this to be a conspiracy. Wecht stayed with the scientifically irrefutable forensic facts, as opposed to O’Bloviator’s confident endorsement of the Warren Commission report findings.

Dr. Wecht questioned the methodology used by O’Reilly and Fuhrman in reaching their conclusions. As do I.  Dr. Wecht was brought on camera to bolster, to “window dress” the “fair and balanced” illusion so typical of Fox News programming.

FYI — I have interviewed Dr. Wecht — on two separate occasions. His testimony has never wavered one from the other. He has his facts down cold. You can read a transcript here:

The “surprise” for me was Mark Fuhrman.  Hearing the ex-homicide detective say he believes that Oswald was the shooter, the lone shooter, was stunning.

magicbulletThough Fuhrman allowed that Alan Spector’s “Magic Bullet” theory is “complete fantasy” because the single bullet didn’t square with the horizontal trajectory, he said he’s convinced that Oswald DID get off three shots. Fuhrman said he believes Oswald was a competent shooter (he wasn’t), and in a trial test he and a friend did with a rifle similar to the (grossly inaccurate) Mannleicher-Carcano, they beat Oswald’s time by a few seconds, thus satisfying themselves that it was possible for Oswald to have fired the three shots that killed JFK.  With that, he said, he was convinced.

Fuhrman completely ignored forensic evidence about the physics involved: The bullet wounds – entrances and exits. The direction from which the bullets were fired, hitting Kennedy at his front (throat) and right front (forehead and right occipital area), causing his head to snap back and to the left.  The mystery of the “pristine” bullet found at Parkland Hospital, and so much more. In fact, Fuhrman ignored pretty much all of the forensic evidence that has been presented and documented.

What he offered instead was utter nonsense. It was evident to me that Fuhrman had not done his homework — had not delved into the reams of material that would disprove his conclusion. Or…

I had more faith in Fuhrman than that. He significantly hurt his credibility when he displayed what was obviously sloppy, careless police work. He didn’t perform due diligence. He phoned it in.  And given that, his assessment puts into question the quality of his work as a cop.  His Fox News gig might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to him.  Peter principle?

Or… perhaps the explanation is an even simpler one: Fuhrman’s being paid to take O’Reilly’s point of view, regardless of his own personal opinion.  As a regular Fox contributor, he’s earning what must be a handsome supplement to his fixed LEO pension. Money talks.  And for some, money will make you say anything the paymaster tells you to say.  Because as we know, Fox “News” is a business, first, foremost, and always. The only thing “fair and balanced” is their ledger sheet.  Either way, Fuhrman’s credibility is dead to me now.

This was about selling books — O’Reilly’s books. Getting “His Arrogance’s” quick and dirty pop culture book out there ahead of other more considered works like Corsi’s, pimping it and its associated movie deal to the masses who follow “the King of Cable”.  The masses whose time would be better spent following the money…  $$$… cause it ain’t about the truth, despite Fox’ much ballyhoo’d (and doubtlessly focus-grouped) motto “Fair, balanced, and unafraid.”  Phttt…

Fox, O’Reilly and their paid cohorts will continue propagating the lie sold to America 50 years ago and now, on the 50th anniversary of that fateful day in Dallas, because it creates controversy and as we know, controversy attracts eyeballs, and eyeballs attract advertising dollars… and influence, and access to power.

Two words: “Operation Mockingbird.”

Look it up.

  1. Want the truth about the Assassination? The Catholic Church was behind it and the Pope approved of it. Three weeks before Nov. 22 President Diem and is brother were assassinated in South Vietnam under orders of Kennedy. The next day his sister in law, Madame Nhu held a live press conference where she threatened to kill him in revenge. She quoted a famous Catholic law of TYRANNICIDE (SEE GOOGLE) where she claimed she had right to kill him since he harmed her country. A few days later she flew to Rome and saw the Pope who gave his permission. The Warren Commission said she was suspect, but that was kept secret for 30 years and no writer will mention her in any of the thousands of assassination books.
