Very early this morning, 4.24.2021, I saw a live tour through DC and through the pretty neighborhoods and traffic, heavy traffic, minor road repairs and some construction to various places, including riding over a stretch of sidewalk that was several inches out of alignment and difficult to traverse along the winding way to the WH, where Layafettte Park was still closed.
As the tour guide on an electric bicycle was looking through the park fence, also wrought iron, a Guard appeared immediately to ask what he was doing. The guide said ‘I live here (DC) and was thinking about a nice walk later, is the park closed all day?” and he said “yeah, still closed”- he was friendly, but was right in the face of the tour guide who had a camera crew on 2 other electric bicycles right behind and beside him…. in the background were large white box trucks and men unloading and lining up many heavy, large white concrete barriers, joined together by their end shapes that fit closely, in front of the Wrought Iron tall fencing around the White House. They appeared to be about 3 feet tall. More heavy security is being added all around, it seems. The tour guide was unable to get any closer. The reason for his spontaneous road trip was because several of his friends who were already in the WH area had notified him that there were many police cars in that area. I just lucked upon that video while listening to Congress fight about the very recent events. I wondered about the increased security for a few minutes, but had no time. Lots of yelling by the Dems these days.
