Locally… next weekend, April 11 -12 beachsiders will be seeing and hearing the soaring and screaming sounds of high energy aerial performances here in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach as the U.S. Blue Angels begin the nation’s 250th “Salute to America” Signature Anniversary Celebration.
Cape Canaveral residents will get a preview a couple of days earlier when the super jets fly in and practice maneuvers prior to the main event on Saturday and Sunday.
Commemorating America’s 250th Birthday, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the annual event over Cocoa Beach (and Cape Canaveral), marking the opening of the Air Dot Show Tour, a national air show series that travels to destinations across the country each year, bringing military and civilian flight demonstrations to thousands of spectators throughout the summer season.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels event will also feature a Navy F-35C Demonstration and the Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, among a wide variety of military and civilian performers, all taking place over the shoreline beaches of the beautiful blue Atlantic.
