Election Day

“For I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” — Philippians 4:11

The people of Cape Canaveral have spoken, and as of November 17, I will no longer hold a seat on our City Council. With three open seats and five candidates, two incumbents were retained and a third will soon be sworn in and join them at the dais.

I’m not sad, and I’m not sorry. In fact, I’m truly elated—I have my life back!

My year serving on Cape Canaveral’s City Council has been extraordinary. I’ve learned so much about how our city works, about campaigning, and about the quiet dedication of the wonderful people who manage and staff our city’s daily needs, keeping everything running smoothly even through adversity and tight budgets.

I’ve seen the inner workings of local politics—both the good and the not-so-good—and I’ve gained a much deeper appreciation for the real challenges facing our city and the hard work it takes to find solutions.

It’s been a wonderful experience, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have been part of it. I’m equally grateful knowing that the winners of this election will bring their whole hearts to the job of keeping Cape Canaveral strong and wisely guiding this beautiful 1.9-square-mile stretch of rapidly changing barrier island.

Congratulations to all the citizens who turned out in such impressive numbers. You showed up and took part in the greatest exercise of democracy we have.

And a warm congratulations to the (thus far) winners: incumbent Don Willis and newcomers Brad Pervell and Dan Coon. Please know you can count on me to support your efforts in any way I can. Though I won’t be seated beside you, I’ll still be right there with you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who cast a vote for me. Your support means more than I can say.

And finally, none of this would have been possible without my husband Tim. He’s been 100% by my side with solid advice, steady support, and so much patience throughout my time on the council and during the long days of campaigning. We’ve truly enjoyed this adventure together.

A united front!

      1. Thank you so much Stephanie! Looking forward to being part of what’s happening in Cape Canaveral in a different capacity. We are all so blessed to call it home!

  3. I knew it was only a matter of time that some States, especially TX, would go blue. You can’t send the amount of migration, mostly 3rd-world people here and expect the politics to not change. Also, giving them every advantage, not requiring assimilation or learning English. In addition, so many moved here from CA. When looking at the TX demographic voting map, the blue areas were highly Latino. Also, even though it was badly needed, Americans did not like the visual portrayal and representation continuously on TV of the mass deportation.
And, in TX, Governor Abbott was on borrowed time. Many are upset about various things, including the fact that he actually did not do enough about blocking Muslim shenanigans. My city is a current hotspot for them.
Although it was lame duck voting time for Trump, every other President lost seats in Congress and the House during their presidency at this interval; it was for us, sadly, Trump had so much to clean up. He and Republicans had to work on 3D chess quickly to fix so much. America right now is a devastating blow. I cannot believe that, even after seeing Omar Ilhan’s shenanigans, Michigan voted in a Muslim.
I do believe the Lord has this, and we know he put Trump in place; ultimately, ultimatley it will be the Lord who saves America. And I think he still has the big one coming. We have to hold the line. And be prepared for….
I must admit, living here in TX and seeing it become blue-waved hit me hard. And let’s face it, too many Americans just believe the tainted media and are not able to figure out the chess moves of Trump; only gas and food prices are hitting them hard.

Remember 1992 when The phrase “It’s the economy, stupid” was coined by political strategist James Carville in 1992.

Carville was the chief campaign strategist for Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 U.S. presidential campaign against incumbent George H.W. Bush. He wrote the phrase on a whiteboard inside the campaign’s Little Rock, Arkansas, headquarters as an internal reminder to keep the staff focused on three core messages.

However, besides all the above reasons, I also think the ultimate reason for all the so-called blue wave was business as usual for the PIRATES. The steal is real. And this ain’t over till the fat lady sings, as they say, and my lips are still sealed.
