If instead he would invest in ice hockey rinks around Florida I might consider visiting the state I lived in the whole decade of the 80’s. I still play and have since I was in junior high.
Now for an ol’ guys’ boring story about golf. The last time I had a relationship with golf I was in high school. I got a job in the pro shop at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, at the time a well known club that hosted quite a few PGA tournaments. Well, the job was connected to the pro shop – it was in the golf cart / caddy shack, tending to the electric carts, cleaning clubs and bags and putting on new club grips.
One day good ol’ Oral Roberts and his angelic son graced us with their presence. Since I had become somewhat familiar with the course and the game I was asked to caddy for them. I was very respectful as I was taught and did everything a good caddy should do.
The most memorable thing I remember is how much I had wished I’d had a tape recorder. They and their two partners all cussed like Marines. The next most memorable thing is after they left and I checked in with the pro shop I was enlightened to the views of the employees – the Roberts had a free membership to the Club and never spent a penny at the pro shop. Their golf balls were marked ‘K-Mart’.
Oh, and the tip I got for being their caddy for 18 holes – a small handfull of loose pocket change.
Some people have experiences when they are young that have a deciding impact on their adult lives and the choices they make. There’s an immense possibility that what has been happening in our world will drive the younger generation toward conservative views with aligned ethics and morals. I firmly believe the radical lefts’ actions will result in 180° from what they intended.
BTW – golf balls are wicked in super-sized sling shots, great for small game and screeching libtards.
