There’s concern about search engines.

“I noticed Code Monkey mention Bing, and he’s absolutely right. They actually do have really good results, but you are getting even less privacy than Google when you use them.

FUN FACT: If you’re on PC and you install a third party firewall to prevent your operating system software from sending outgoing information over the internet, every single Microsoft-owned website will break and become inaccessible.

You can’t even LOOK at the Bing or Outlook homepage without letting your operating system send personal data about your device to Microsoft, down to the level of which user account is currently signed into your device.

It turns out half of the subroutines in your task manager are sending information about your computer usage to Microsoft on a regular basis without telling you. This includes obvious things like system.exe, but also run-of-the-mill stuff like svchost.exe, taskhost.exe, rundll32.exe, dllhost.exe etc. which have absolutely no business talking to the internet.”

DuckDuckGo down-ranks sites for ‘Russian disinformation’

“At DuckDuckGo, we’re been rolling out search updates that down-rank sites associated with Russian disinformation,” Weinberg added.

A L E R T: CEO and Founder of #DuckDuckGo says the search engine company is manipulating results it considers Russian “disinformation.”

It doesn’t stop with Russia: it extends to anyone Gabriel Weinberg considers a political enemy.

It’s incredibly Ironic & hypocritical that DuckDuckGo, which was allegedly founded to promote online privacy & as an anti-censorship company has adopted the same abusive, discriminatory, censorship based anti privacy policies as its rival, Google.

This is a slippery slope. ⬇️

  1. I use DuckDuckGo…guess they’re letting their hypocrisy show. What search engine do you all use? I’m seriously thinking about a VPN…

  2. duck duck go .. uses GOOGLE .. they wont tell you in some settings or the developer tool .. it shows that google is in it . I went to the one part .. Ican’t think of it to get to it . but I removed it 🙂 .. I have never liked BI NG nor EDGE either .

  3. As with everything else – *including cell phones* – on the interwebz one has to be cautious about which VPN you pay for. Sadly but as expected there are MANY VPNs offered that are owned by just a few companies. The first red flag, in general, is those few companies blanket advertise.

Take the time to check out potential VPNs as thoroughly as you can. It will be tiresome but worth it.

I use Windscribe. I’ve had it for several years and have YET to see an advertisement of theirs. If I remember correctly I ran across them unintentionally, it wasn’t from an advertisement. I’m more of a “Computers for Dummies” person so I can’t give you a technical analysis of them. I’m guess it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. From reading sales pitch ads of other companies Windscribe is fairly basic, has a firewall, no fancy bells and whistles.

I did NOT know this and it’s *VERY TELLING*. There are websites that WILL NOT WORK (red flag) that are supposed to be conservative and ONLY work when I turn the VPN off. That shit is REALLY disturbing. These are just a few of those and I go to them daily:

    – Gateway Pundit
    – WND World News Daily
    – Brighteon

If there’s anyone who is fluent in computer-ese that can enlighten me on this topic I’d be in your debt. If it’s really detailed you can send it to: Robert_the_Marine@protonmail.com

Otherwise post it here as I’m sure there are many others in the same situation.

  4. On his show Dan Bongino recommends Express VPN. I am using it and it’s pretty good. Gives me info on how many attempts to get in the phone.
