From an exceptionally gorgeous ride through Maine to spend time with family before we return to Florida. We were treated to a wintry display that was truly breathtaking. Lace like deciduous branches and frosted swamplands formed a delicate meshwork far into forests and woodlands, guarded by tall pines, spruces and all manner of conifers, whose frosted boughs bowed with the weight of ice and snow.
During the roundtrip ride, we marveled at the magnificence of an extraordinary world brought forward by a perfect storm of sharp wind, sleet and snow, blanketing nature in a dazzling bridal panorama.
Miles after mile, nature adorned itself in a crystalline winter wonderland , giving travelers a spectacular show that whispered in icy tones, “And you thought autumn is beautiful. Let me show you THIS…”
Beautiful photos.

Wisconsin is just like Maine…a winter wonderland. But I’m ready for S P R I N G!
During a trip to Wisconsin, I spent a fair amount of time in Wausau (beautiful city), and was struck by how familiar it seemed, reminding me very much of Maine. I also spent time in Upper Michigan and recognized the similarities. Upper tier states with cold long winters and lots of spruce trees!
