Any person making statements they will not be seeking re-election was put in submission. For the betterment of the country not all will be prosecuted and all will do as told. You will see more of this occur (not normal yet disregarded) and even on the D side. – Q

NOW – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin will not seek re-election.

Joe Manchin has announced he won’t run for reelection  to the US Senate.  A controversial outfit called “No labels” has been funding him and pushing him to run for President as an independent. “No Labels” is owned by a former pollster for Clinton ( I’m told ‘one of the best in the biz’). This run (for president) is definitely poll tested and not just a toe in the water.

Also, “No Labels” attempted to tap Republican candidate Chris Christie, but he declined.

Quoting from Wikipedia, “On November 2, 2023, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “No Labels is perilous to our democracy” since a 2024 presidential run would “jeopardize the reelection of Joe Biden as president of the United States.”

According to Wikipedia (I know, I know…) No Labels says as of July 2023 it was close to raising the $70 million that it thinks will enable it to potentially put a third-party ticket for the 2024 presidential election on the ballot in every state.[11] Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and former Republican Governors Larry Hogan and Jon Huntsman have been mentioned as potential No Labels candidates.”

Manchin says he’s going to tour the country to try to bring people back together, unify the country.  We could end up with two independent candidates (RFK Jr being the other). This could take away enough electoral votes such that the race could be thrown to the House for a decision, in which case each state would get one electoral vote. I believe that decision would be made by the CURRENT House, not one that would be newly elected in 2024.

There are 109 electoral votes in the 12 states where No Labels has ballot access. Most states have a least a 1st ballot commitment then after the 1st ballot, they are free to vote otherwise. They (No Labels) are only in biz to gather contacts…millions of them and for her (Nancy Jacobson) husband Mark Penn to use them in his polling firm (PSB Research). They are all about data gathering. They asked Mitch Daniels (former Gov of IN) before they tapped Manchin for the spot. They don’t expect to win, but be a spoiler for Biden.

Background on Mark Penn (Wikipedia): In 2000, then-First Lady Hillary Clinton asked Penn to advise her on her run for the U.S. Senate from New York. During the campaign, tension brewed between Penn, who urged Clinton to focus on the issues, and other advisers, who urged Clinton to focus more on personality.[43] Clinton followed Penn’s advice and won the election. Penn served again as Clinton’s pollster in her successful 2006 Senate reelection campaign.

But consider this on the other hand… maybe? Maybe not?
