We’ve laid her to rest

We’ve laid to rest my Aunt Violet beside her late husband, our Uncle Norman, on a frigidly cold day in December, a blanket of flowers from loved ones left behind to cover their grave. And though the beautiful blooms will freeze and fade, Violet will live on the hearts of her three daughters, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren for generations to come.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who thoughtfully left kind words of sympathy and comfort here at the Radiopatriot. Your sentiments touched me and my family members who have and will yet come by and read them.

A special thank you to Van Matthews of Texas who gifted us with this beautifully colorized black and white photo of Violet and her sister, my late mother Pauline. Van has made that photographic memory come alive, for which I am so grateful.

Thank you Van!
