I remember reading a few years back that someone found their toaster (or maybe it was a clothes iron?) was phoning home to China. Beware “smart” appliances but even the regular ones might be smarter than they look. This burrowing into our data using tantalizingly cheap Chinese products extends down to the little stuff you wouldn’t even think of, like clothes irons.
Is anyone really surprised? Of course they have infiltrated every aspect of our life and businesses. My understanding is, they already own some of our ports. A strong caution should be sent out, many Chinese items are subpar and down right dangerous, but, does anyone care? Has anything been done?
Just look at some of new construction buildings that have already toppled before being occupied.
