Falcon 9 launches 20

Starlink satellites to orbit from Florida, including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities. These satellites act as cellphone towers in space, eliminating deadzones without phone modifications or special apps.

Brought my guy to the airport around 3:30 am and on the still dark drive back to the coast, I was treated to an unexpected surprise. Just as I entered Cocoa on eastbound 528, the sky began glowing orange gold on the horizon to my left over Kennedy Space Center where a SpaceX Falcon rocket was soaring from its launch pad into the heavens. Clear view all the way up! Magnificent!

Just to the right of the rocket’s bright plume hung the moon, a bright and narrow crescent sliver just a few degrees east of the rocket’s climb. Beside the moon — a tiny diamond-like star (planet?) sparkled, making the entire skyscape absolutely beautiful.

Tried to keep my eyes on the road as I watched it climb until Falcon 9 was just a fading dot. A nice unexpected treat on the way home!

THREE CHEERS FOR THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE PLUME !!!

  1. Beautiful, beautiful photos—thank you for posting—gives me hope that there’s MORE to mankind then the war-mongering sewer rats we have to contend with here on Earth!!
