UPDATE: 4:20 EST — The National Pulse understands Trump was golfing with real estatedeveloper Steve Witkoff. The suspect is believed to be a white male in his 60s.
UPDATE: 3:58 PM EST — President Trump issued a statement that reads: “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.”
UPDATE: 3:25PM EST – Secret Service agents are believed to have spotted a shooter in a tree line, opening fire, before the suspect fled. President Trump is believed to have been the target, with media sources also suggesting the gunman had a backpack, a rifle, and a GoPro video camera.
Campaign spokesman Steven Cheung added: “No further details at this time,” while the U.S. Secret Service confirmed the incident, stating: “The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The former president is safe. @pbso will have more details soon.”
