My sis sent this last night. They just returned to Florida from a vacation in Maine.

Gridlock around the gas stations here in the Ocala area……people doing what people do…..freak out…..same as up North when a snowstorm is forecasted….even though we are in Marion County and the safest area in FLA….the greater Ocala area….this is the area people are told to EVACUATE TO…….we chose this area for our forever home after leaving out magnificent log home homestead in the White Mountains from our perch in the far Western mountains of Maine right on the NH border with clear views of Mt Washington to retire in FLA. Even though we love the water, having lived on or near it, even Cape Cod, during all our years in New England…..a waterview home in FLA was out of the question for me! Losing everything we own to a hurricane/flooding was not my idea of a peaceful retirement. Ocala area, horse capitol of the world, turned out perfect…..beautiful and still fairly rural…..and close enough to that megalopolis called The Villages if we want alittle excitement once in awhile….:)…….praying for all on the Gulf ….all our friends in Venice/Naples/Sarasota have evacuated. Really praying their properties stay intact. Also praying all told to evacuate are able to do so. Everyone in our gated community watches over their neighbors, so no one feels alone. That same thing holds true wherever you live in Fla. People willing to help each other! I also know why all these mega storms are happening….3 WEEKS before the most important election in history in our Country….and happening to mostly Red voting areas…..doesn’t take a genius to figure out what’s going on!!! It ain’t climate change folks!…..God Bless us ALL…….
