This is easy.
- Deport the criminals first REGARDLESS if you identify as a “farm worker”.
- Anyone here for a job is INELIGIBLE to EVER be a citizen UNLESS they (1) enlist in the military or have a child/sibling enlist in the military, (2) marry a US citizen, or (3) invest $1,000,000 to be a citizen (“Citizenship by investment”). Yes, Canada and New Zealand allow one to “buy” citizenship this way.
- For #2, if you are here illegally and want to be a citizen, leave, apply, and then, if approved, you’re a citizen. Otherwise, see #2.
- DACA. No such thing, See #2 or #3.
- Citizen by birth to parents who are illegals. Nope. See #2, #3, or #4.
- If you are illegal and do not have a job in the last 3 months, see you later. You need to prove it with TAX payments. 1040 illegal
In the end, the US government should be taking applications for workers like CA farms. If not approved by the US Govt, then a hefty fine if ICE raids the place. Otherwise, companies need to apply to have their workers on “work VISAs”. So if the US govt deems an industry hurt by illegals, then they can deny work VISAs for that industry.
Yes, a lot of abuse with work VISAs. Look at H1B visas. So, there needs to be rules around this getting out of hand bc of lobbyists and pols (and whomever is the president/Congress.)

Might consider not having work VISAs at all. It is anticipated that prices across the board will be reduced when Trump gets in and cleans up all the manipulated pricing (the “Fed” currency manipulations, tariffs on imports in place), farming (“regulations” designed to keep farm production controlled), mfg companies returning, pipelines, taxes, etcetera.
If pricing is going to adjust, and most folks will be able to find or create their own employment, why not let farm wages adjust to a going rate? Seasonal jobs might be perfect for college kids – like when seed companies employed kids (high school and college) to walk beans (very good money).
Something that has been lost is that not all jobs were intended to “raise a family” on. For example, jobs at McDonald’s had a few adults to manage and work as the “base” crew (paid better – full time), and kids filled in the rest of the workforce. We need to get back to having a range of jobs available for those in need of good part-time work as well as full-time work that provides for a strong middle class.
We need to get back to people OFF the government “sit at home” pay / reward system. Until ALL able-bodied Americans are working (not just those who want to work) and OUR citizens’ homelessness issues are resolved….we do not need Illegals / migrant workers. There should not be the attitude that there is work “beneath” our “station” in life. It’s work, it’s necessary and there should be damn few excuses to not hold down a job……..
