It’s distinctive and thoroughly contemporary. And it’s designed and fabricated by my friend in Northern California.
Creator Robert Kase, a longtime friend and owner of Kase Sign Company, is realizing a dream to design sleek contemporary furniture with a twist… some are made with concrete.
Robert has spent his career designing, fabricating and installing corporate signage on buildings, corporate park entrance walls, and more.
His new venture, Kase Contemporary Furniture, is also located in Sacramento.

The table is made completely of aluminum. There is an LED light shining from the top, evenly illuminating the entire leg including the base.
Robert accents some of the aluminum pieces with concrete. All three pieces feature interior LED illumination, giving them flair and whimsy.
One console features LED lights seemingly floating across the midsection, embedded in brushed clear anodized aluminum. Its tabletop and one leg are concrete. “I spent a massive amount of time working on different mixes to make the concrete as light as possible,” Robert said
A “dog-eared” coffee table is also made of aluminum. An interior LED illuminates the piece from within a transparent blue acrylic sheet overlayed with a leaf pattern. The surfaces (top and base) are painted with acrylic urethane and clear coat.
Robert recently introduced his first three creations at the West Edge Design Fair, a juried show held last November in Santa Monica, CA. His designs lend themselves to contemporary decor in hotels, museums, professional offices, public places, or a private home.
