Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued his first public remarks after a fiery Oval Office exchange with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance on Friday that raised questions about the fate of the potential U.S.–Ukraine minerals deal that would have brought the two countries together and served as a bulwark against Russian aggression.
“Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people,” he said. “Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was asked to leave the White House on Feb. 28 following a tense meeting with President Donald Trump, according to a White House official.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz informed Zelenskyy that Trump and Vice President JD Vance no longer wished to continue the meeting, the official said.
The Ukrainian leader was also originally scheduled to give a speech at the Hudson Institute at 4 p.m. This has now been canceled, according to this office.
something super fishy about the whole meeting. People are getting pissy and moaning about Trumps character… i don’t know…. it appears to me, it could be solid case of kayfabe. (like professional wrestling… fake but made to look real).
