I ask “Who are God’s Chosen People? The Jews or the followers of Christ, the Christians?” Your opinion/view is solicited.
GROK:
The concept of the “Chosen Children of God” originates in religious texts and varies by tradition. In Judaism, the Jewish people are often referred to as the “Chosen People” based on passages in the Hebrew Bible (e.g., Deuteronomy 7:6), where God selects Israel to follow the covenant and uphold the Torah.
In Christianity, interpretations differ: some see Christians as the new “Chosen People” through faith in Jesus Christ (e.g., 1 Peter 2:9), while others view the Jewish people as retaining their chosen status, with Christians grafted into the covenant (Romans 11:17-24). The answer depends on the theological lens—Judaism emphasizes the Jewish covenant, while Christianity varies by denomination, with some supersessionist views favoring Christians and others affirming both groups’ roles.

I believe the answer is a combination. I believe God needed a reference to bring about his plan for salvation. Knowing the hearts of men would need a savior and many other things to come out of one area for prophecy. He chose Israel, and referred to them as his chosen people. I believe chosen does not equate to saved. I also believe Christians are grafted in because of their belief, and are saved because of Grace and their belief in Jesus as their Savior. I think the term chosen people can cover both, depending on the context. Again, I do not believe all Jews are saved, even though they may be termed the chosen people, of the Old Testament before Jesus came. I also, believe the verse in the Bible that states upon Jesus return, the Jews will see the hands and feet of those who they pierced, and realize he was their Savior whom they rejected.
I don’t know if That answers your question at all. But, it is fun reflecting. Thanks for your question.
I love this utube vid about Jews and Tucker, by Jonathan Cahn> It is a great discussion that touches on more about the Jewish people.
