Do you think Trump called the legacy media the “enemy of the people” for no reason?
Do you allow the enemy to have access to your plans?
“A growing list of news organizations with access to Pentagon briefings have formally rejected a new Defense Department (or Dept of War) policy that would require journalists to sign a pledge promising not to seek unauthorized materials and limiting their access to certain areas unless accompanied by an official. In essence it’s part of the continuing crackdown on leaks.”
“Outlets have been told to sign the pledge by Tuesday at 5 pm or surrender their press credentials within 24 hours, after weeks ago the new policy was introduced.”
Trump is removing the “enemy of the people’s” power from them.
They no longer get a free rein to undermine Trump’s administration. And they don’t like it.
But when your approval numbers are down near the democrats poll numbers, nobody cares whether they like it or not. They have no power and no longer control the narrative battlefield.
But it’s bigger than just “limiting” the controlled media’s access.
Trump is “replacing them.”
“Establishment media outlets have also been frustrated after long-accredited media outlets were forced to vacate their assigned Pentagon workspaces under what officials described as an “annual media rotation program” – which happened similarly at the White House where independent media, podcasters, and nontraditional media figures have been given access and sometimes even priority.”
Trump is replacing them with honest media who are not antagonistic towards his administration.
What’s the media’s response?
“Among those which have made clear they are not signing the policy are The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, The Atlantic, Politico, The Hill, The Guardian, Reuters, the Associated Press, NPR, HuffPost, Breaking Defense, and others.”
COMMENTS:
Excellent point. Trump never says ANYTHING for “no reason”. What may seem like a flippant off-the-cuff remark often turns out to be sophisticated multi level message, carefully aimed at targeted audiences.
…
And, they outed themselves as “The Enemy” even further with this stupid stance. We aren’t talking about the sharpest tools in the shed.
…
They took the bait once again, will these dorks ever learn? I’m betting they all cave in a couple weeks and quietly sign, but it’ll be too late and as you point out, these enemies will be cut off. All done with a smile.
…
Absolutely love it. All they do is walk right into traps. ” these people are stupid.”
…
Back in the 1990s, my father had a routine, switch on the nightly news and announce loudly to anyone in earshot, “gotta see what the enemy is up to.”
