All of this makes me REALLY happy that I just have a simple Flip TracFone ….which is usually off unless I’m running errands or traveling…..used for emergency calls or keeping in touch when traveling only…..I do NOT need a phone 24/7….not running a business or need a phone in my face 24/7 either…..have had a flip phone since they were invented, not giving mine up……5G is so very dangerous to your health for starters, most folks “wear” their phone like clothing, so that 5G is doing you no good at all, and big brother knows enough about me already (whether it’s on or OFF, that phone knows and hears all)….so no thanks to a Smart phone……
“I am completely old-school about all this modern tech madness. Honestly, it makes me feel like a hamster on a wheel—monitored, controlled, and spinning in circles to absolutely nowhere.I do own a cell phone, but I keep the ringer set to the lowest possible decibel. I never check my messages, I ignore my voicemail, and I absolutely do not text. If you want to talk to me, you have to call my landline like a civilized human being. I don’t download apps, and frankly, I barely know how to swipe to answer a call. Like Suzi, I only take the phone out for emergency errands. I’ve become that classic old gal in public, openly shaking my head at the digital zombies glued to their screens. It used to be just the kids, but now the whole world is infected. You won’t find Alexa in my house, either. And a Smart TV? Absolutely not. I refuse to own a television that is smarter than I am. Granted, I’m a total sucker for Facebook and Google searches, so they got me there. But I still deeply resent being forced to buy a spy-car in 2015. All of this tech makes my head spin. I want to get off this crazy merry-go-round right now, before it throws me into a bush.”
Agree 100%…..don’t care if family/friends react with a “What you you mean THAT YOU DON’T TEXT? I just smile and say I AM REACHABLE via email, PM on FB, answering machine on my LANDLINE phone, and even on my FLIP Phone when I’m traveling…..I KNOW we are being forced into Q codes, scanning for this that and the other thing everywhere…but I ain’t folding to any of it if I can help it…..that’s my story and I’m sticking with it….. 🙂
