hmmmm……ALL those $$$$……might be a good time to relocate somewhere else? Wishful thinking I know, BUT…….
We experienced this at Fort Sam Houston. With the BRAC of 2008 Fort Sam was a big winner. $3.2B of construction and Fort Sam went from being the Medical Command for the Army to the Medical Command for the DoD. When we needed to upgrade the infrastructure for phones and computers it was discovered that the original clay duct system was in place. It was impossible to pull out a cable and replace it with a higher density cable as the duct would collapse as soon as the original cable was removed. Cheapest remedy was to abandon in place and trench a new run.
After all the money that has been handed out (wasted) over the years it is unconscionable that our elected officials have allowed deterioration of this magnitude. Don’t you wish they could all be held accountable? I sure do.
