Although I am grateful for all of her hard work I find it disturbing that Candace is telling people to not join the military. If everyone did what she is saying we wouldn’t have a country. IMO this is a very immature stance. If no one was willing to fight for our nation’s sovereignty we would be totally overrun. We saw a bit of that with the Biden administration. With her attitude you might as well just open the borders and let the chaos ensue. After serving this nation for 27 years and my husband 31 years I really take exception to her attitude. Do I like what is going on? No. Nor do I like Trump’s mouth. Nor do I like being in the middle of the wars. I saw many soldiers with burns and limb loss at Fort Sam Houston. She is generalizing and that always has a bad outcome. There are many more good patriotic people in the military than not. Those who are willing to stay the course and make a positive difference is one of the things this country needs.
Moreover, what this nation needs is to get back to our roots. To invite God back into our public square, our schools, our homes and our culture. If we don’t do that …. we are lost.

Hey K I get what you’re saying/feeling. I’m heading towards 72. I have a long military / DoD career too. 27 years of USAF / AirNG with 22 years active duty, 13 years of Federal and DOD civil service, 35 years combined full time fed service. Ranging from 1978-2016.
So yeah. Candace can tend to generalize, overly, with subjects which have made only negative impressions on her. Where she’s a great journalist, diver, truth-info seeker, she can nonetheless be short on personal experience.
But I wouldn’t overly worry about what she says – the thing you’re worried about. Chalk it up to her age, her generation. And heck especially the overall impression the Fed gives lately. It’s kinda no wonder she’s got the impression she has. Her gen and the one immediately before hers – those in the military just spent about 2 decades being ruined in needless, fake wars.
Even before that – earlier war zones our folks were involved in, were, in the words of various Generals, Colonels, from the 80s, 90s, 2000 era, have voiced their stance on lack of validity, and honor regarding the wars we’ve been involved in.
Much of what we are as a society, nation and especially as a government, needs a high pressure flush and hose down. That said:
What Candace COULD benefit from is a good few day tour, an orientation of the different military forces, the wide range of diverse careers/jobs each offers, and see the vast majority of service members with SKAs (skills , knowledge, abilities) who perform their jobs with pride, skill and professionalism.
