Liberty’s March has a new generation of Patriots

And in somewhat related news, Eric Odom of 73Wire sent this out last night — the Tea Party Movement is underway. Newsflash for Michael Steele and the crusty RINOs: Take your Big Tent… and stuff it with elephants. Or you can smarten up and get in the back of the line. Your choice. We’re moving out, with or without you.
Tea party activists starting to run for office
Posted: 18 Nov 2009 08:28 AM PST
Tea party activists are stepping it up a notch all over the country to declare legitimate candidacy for office. This morning, we announced on the Tax Day Tea Party website that Richard Behney, an original Tea Party organizer who started a major liberty movement in Indiana, has tossed his hat in the ring by running for US Senate.
In October, Patricia Sullivan, a Florida Tea Party organizer announced her candidacy for US Congress.
Other activists and tea party organizers to run for office include Don Lowery for US Senate in Illinois, Tom Cox for US Senate in Arkansas and Brian T Campbell for Congress in Colorado (website is having problems today).
Tea party activists are also embracing serious candidates who strongly support their beliefs and fight for liberty. In Florida, for example, the movement seems to be rallying behind Allen West for Congress and Marco Rubio for Senate.
When we consider this energy and passion, and the way it all appears to be shifting in to campaign mode, we start to get a clearer picture of what the controversial NY23 race was about. It wasn’t a statement of revenge, it wasn’t a declaration for a third party… instead, I think it was a message that the Republican Party no longer controls the conservative base. And the party can certainly no longer take it for granted.
2010 is unfolding to be a high energy, hard to predict election year. We’re looking forward to covering all the action as it begins to happen.
