Earlier this evening, Terresa Monroe-Hamilton published a post about yet another alarming executive order signed by Obama which is raising hackles among national security watchers.
Just a simple question… Why do this? Why would you form this council unless, oh, let’s say, you wanted the assurances of Governors of your largest, most populated areas to assure you that when the National Guard and/or other military and police are given orders to carry out Martial Law or some other tyrannical edict, that they will behave like good little soldiers and not like Oath Keepers? Because honestly, I can’t figure out any other reason that makes sense. One Texan asked the following:
“Is this a first step towards Martial Law, or a tie to the InterPol, RAND National Police Force stuff we’ve been hearing about,” asked a Texas patriot who tipped off Canada Free Press (CFP) after finding news of the new Council of Governors on Twitter. “Is this a sort of Homeland Security Politburo?
“I do know it’s another sleuth order executed without any announcement, OR EXPLANATION to the People.”
Indeed, we’d like to know as well what this portends for the US when combined with other recent events that are highly suspicious to the American people and downright dangerous to American sovereignty. As Canada Free Press states, “The Obama administration seems to be conducting the business of America under cover of the dark.” Dead of night and in the shadows, America slouches further and further into a fascist realm that many do not want to even know about, much less confront.
Later this same evening, a writer/friend emailed an interview The Daily Bell conducted with well respected libertarian attorney and activist Dr. Edwin Vieira Jr.
Here’s an excerpt:
Daily Bell: Thanks for sitting down with us. Let’s get right to it. In your view, what are the most critical domestic problems facing America?
Edwin Vieira Jr.: Two stand out. The foremost problem-because it is the source of, or contributes significantly to, almost every economic difficulty now plaguing this country-is the inherent and ineradicable instability of the present monetary and banking systems centered around the Federal Reserve System.
The second problem derives from the first. It is the ever-accelerating development of a first-class para-militarized police-state apparatus centered around the United States Department of Homeland Security, with its tentacles reaching down into every police force throughout the States and localities. Fundamentally, this apparatus is not, and never was, designed to deal with international “terrorism”. If that were its goal, its first task would be absolutely to secure the southern border of the United States, which it has never seriously attempted to do.
Rather, it is being set up to deal with what the political-cum-financial Establishment anticipates (and I believe rightly so) will be massive social and political unrest bordering on chaos throughout America when the monetary and banking systems finally implode in the not-so-distant future-surely in hyperinflation, and probably in hyperinflation coupled with a gut-wrenching depression.
Of these two problems, the second is actually the more dangerous. For if (on whatever pretext) this police-state apparatus does succeed in clamping down on America, the likelihood of effecting basic reforms in money, banking, or anything else favorable to the American people will be reduced to something approaching nil, absent a veritable political uprising in this country.
So where is all this taking us? Do you trust this Administration to look out for our best interests? Rush Limbaugh weighs in:
“When appointed, the Council will be reviewing such matters as involving the National Guard of the various States; homeland defense; civil support; synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States; and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support activities.”
This is from the WhiteHouse.gov press office:
“President Obama Signs Executive Order Establishing Council of Governors.”
Now, this seems to be federalizing the National Guard. This is why I need to get legal opinion on this.
“When appointed, the Council will be reviewing such matters as involving the National Guard of the various States; homeland defense; civil support; synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States;” integration, synchronization “and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support activities.”
Now, Obama said in the campaign, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” He said that in 2008 in the campaign.
You stop and think about that: Just as well funded as the US military? The military budget is, what, $600 billion a year? Stop and think of that: We spent more on the stimulus than on national defense. But anyway, we’re going to spend $600 billion on a civilian national security force just as powerful as the US military? Can anybody say posse comitatus?
Then we have this executive order from yesterday and I’m really scratching my head over what this means. Based on his campaign statement: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” You ponder that.
