TALKERS Magazine, the bible of talk radio and the new talk media, has featured Blog Talk Radio’s Alan Levy as its cover story for the March issue. And that’s a pretty BIG deal.
Levy was a retired telecom entrepreneur who implemented an idea that has changed the face of “small town” radio.
Blog Talk Radio, the largest online social radio network, has broadcast more than 500,000 episodes since its launch in September 2006, and attracts more than 5.6 million unique listeners and 4 million unique website visitors a month, a number that is doubling every six months. It is a phenomenon that enables anyone with a telephone and a computer to host a free online talk radio show.
Tonight Alan Levy joins us to talk about the phenomenal rise in citizen talk radio, and its implications for the future. We’ll also talk about the FCC’s intended changes and growing control over the internet, and what he thinks that means for free speech.
Alan is described as an “emerging internet talk giant redefining the meaning of grassroots radio”. You’re invited to meet him. In person. Only on
