Death of the Movie Star

Pamela Meister has a piece at BIG HOLLYWOOD that perfectly expresses what many –nay, most of us think of the out-of-touch Hollywood “glitterati”.  You know, the beautiful but utterly vapid people who populate the silver screen.

Read it and see if you don’t agree with Pam’s point of view.  The death of the movie star.  We’re sick of being lectured by lightweights in klieg lights.

  1. Once upon a time, I loved movies. I actually watched the Oscars, until the year Elia Kazan was to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award….On The Waterfront, Splendor in the Grass….brilliant artist!
He was “received” by an audience with mostly folded arms (I especially saw Nick Nolte with arms folded across his chest…) . I realized that Elia Kazan was being “punished” by the mentally-challenged elites for his (Kazan’s) cooperation in the McCarthy communist hunt of decades past.
I finally realized the awards ceremony was offal….here was a genius being denied appreciation for his life’s work from some, because he “fingered” enemies of our country. (I’ve always wondered why communists don’t just work in communist countries…hypocritical possibly? They bite the hand that feeds them.) Politics was more important to these imbeciles—NOT artistic accomplishment.
The morons in hollywood proved they don’t give a sh*t about true artistry……I haven’t been to a movie since then. I won’t support elitist idiots. I have nothing but pity for them.
And, for anyone that might wonder, I think I’ve PROVEN Americans have a VERY long memory.

    1. Thank you for your comment. You’ve given much thought to this and I appreciate your take on it. I agree that it is criminal that the Hollywood Left have taken it upon themselves to make life miserable and ostracize those who don’t see the world from their point of view.

We want to be entertained, not politically lectured to. I think Pam Meister nailed it when she ended her piece with this:

“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. And a newer one: Shut up and sing. And if you can’t manage that, don’t complain when your adoring public isn’t so adoring anymore.”
